    White Noise - 10/10
    AWKOHAWNOH - 8/10
    Use Me - 6/10

The haunting vibe of those first two records, and especially the angsty/aggressive energy of White Noise was really what made me love this band. They perfectly blended atmospheric, emotional verses with absolutely massive rock choruses.

'Use Me' was just felt a little bit too safe and stripped down for my tastes, reminding me more of radio rock, Imagine Dragons style than I'd like. There are certainly good songs on there, but the production just felt lethargic the hooks got formulaic. I sincerely believe every song off "White Noise" could beat any song off "Use Me" in a head-to-head match-up.

However, all of the singles off 'Evergreen' so far have been 9's or 10's, maintaining a pop sensibility, but being a lot more upbeat and incorporating the rock-oriented riffiness that I love. Even the softer songs like "LOVE IS..." are a lot more interesting, incorporating solid basslines and countermelodies to keep things fresh. My date of the Goddess/Godless tour can't come soon enough.

Use me was their best. I rarely revisit the others.

  4. All We Know is one of the best albums to come out of the scene in the past however years it came out. I should revisit Use Me as I remember liking it but not having much staying power. Still have fond memories of White Noise, but yeah they've really come into their own on the second album.

    The rivalry is back on

I don’t really even think they’ve had much of a sound change — the songwriting and production has just improved album over album in my opinion

excited to see and hopeful that this will continue that trajectory

Do they share the same producer as Thirty Seconds to Mars and Imagine Dragons? These songs are not good.

Produced by Lynn in collaboration with JT Daly, who's worked with Demi Lovato, The Regrettes, & K. Flay.

Also Imagine Dragons would never make music as riff-driven, lyrical or melodically engaging as these, lmao.

What riff are you referring to in the new track? There’s a bit of background guitar but that’s about it. The electronic drums sound compressed to shit.

looks like production on this one track was a collab between Lynn and Carrie Karpinen

I haven't heard the new song yet, I'm just referring to the overall sound of the past few tracks.

All these songs have been good but none have hit the highs Use Me has

i love the song, unsurprisingly. insane how PVRIS' progression has matched the direction my music taste has swung in for like a full decade now. forever amazed.

If those are live they sound lifeless and still compressed to shit. I’m done holding out hope she ever does anything in the vein of the first two records.

Hopefully the new sound brings her the success she’s looking for!

yeah I feel like that about this album so far BUT I will say I listened to it in the car and it sounded great

probably worth mentioning too that otherwise I listen to stuff on my phone and my headphones suck haha

this might be better than Use Me. Lynn is really at the top of her game here with her production skills (in addition to the wonderful co-produced on this record), and aside from a spot or 2 on the back half, it flows really well without many lulls (for the record, i love Use Me).

for me this completely blows Use Me out the water!

Hype Zombies is just wow. here for more gritty industrial-ish Lynn

her production and vocals are incredible
