Maybe I'm projecting, but I find this band deeply melancholic. Either way, it's gorgeous and one of my favourite post-releases over the last few years.

It's a wonderful release. I swear anything that dunk!records presses is an insta-like for me at the moment.

Not even 24 hours with It Was a Good Dream, but I think I'm like a dozen listens deep. This is stunning. I'm with @White, this is one the best post-rock releases in a long time. There are so many moments that just send shivers up my spine.

    Agreed.

For me, since the Hiroe album last year and the Bruit album the year before, there really hadn't been anything extremely worthwhile in quite some time.

I wasn't expecting this to be THIS good.

This Will Destroy You is working on new music. They shared a clip of a new song in their story on Facebook

Explosions In The Sky - Troxy

Anyone know anything about this Explosions in the Sky gig that popped up out of nowhere? The banner has the tour titled as "The End Tour", which I don't like the sound of...

This is rad as hell. Album comes out this week too.

And they have, combined, barely 150 followers across their 3 socials. Where the crap did you find this?

Reporting in from Portals Festival, which was on in London this past weekend! The festival was incredible as always with the big bands putting on some unforgettable sets (EF, MONO, Maybeshewill). EF in particular were the best that I've ever seen them in nearly 18 years of following the band.

However, there were a few lesser known post-rock bands to myself that are quickly becoming new favourites that I wanted to share:

    A Burial at Sea

The smallest stage was absolutely packed for the Irish outfit of uplifting horn-laden post-rock. I caught them supporting Caspian along with Coldbones late last year and it was one of the most beautiful introductions I’ve had to a band in years. They even teased a tear out of me during the triumphant climax of the 9 minute epic “Tropic of Cancer”. I've shared this song below, but I recommend checking out the entirety of the self-titled record if you like what you hear.

    RIYL:
yndi halda, Youthmovies, Tall Ships, The Physics House Band

    ---

    Shy, Low

Shy, Low kicked off things on Sunday morning and thankfully had a pretty big turnout despite all the sore heads. They've been kicking around for about a decade, but I'd never crossed paths with them until now. Their set certainly blew away the cobwebs with pummelling guitars and inventive drumming. I've been listening to their new EP (released on Friday!) on loop all morning and will absolutely be venturing further into the back catalogue.

    RIYL: Caspian, Ranges, Coldbones

    ---

As this is a post-rock thread I won't talk about some of the other discoveries, but GGGOLDDDD, God Alone, '68 and Svalbard were also unreal.

    Was anyone else in attendance?

+1 for A Burial At Sea. I think I posted that album in here when it dropped and if I didn't I'll be very disappointed in myself. And album #2 is tentatively due in September.

L.O.E - The World & Everything In It

I'm pretty sure I could recite from memory that one excerpt from Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot solely due to hearing it in a million different goddamn post-rock songs.

TWDY announced a tour and also who is in the lineup for it. Chris not among the names mentioned, but Jeremy is.
