Out of nowhere today my brain was like "hey...remember Helen Earth Band?"

...and I was like "I guess so. You're mentioning them."

Damn I forgot how awesome this band was!

  2. I remember Finch's old drummer being part of this project, if I remember correctly. Probably haven't heard that record in a decade so thanks for the reminder!

This band are / were amazing and have less than 1000 monthly listeners on Spotify as of this post. It truly breaks my heart, because Sever Your Roots is SUCH an amazing album.

i used to see them a lot since im local in IL and they even never had a local following much either, i thought about them recently and thought, man they were so good, but no one seemed to care about them.

Always down for more Northstar, they should have been huge.

Alright, here's a deep dive, not sure if anyone else listened to this band at all. I have no idea why I was thinking about them recently, but I went back to listen to them a bit recently. Not all that impressive but their "big" song is still pretty great

You know who should've been huge, got halfway through making a third album and then just disappeared? Decade

    New Abandoned Pools Song
A new Abandoned Pools song "Remember to Remember the Memories" has been released on streaming platforms as part of the Clone High Season 2 soundtrack. The song is from episode 10, the season 2 finale. Also included on the soundtrack is the Clone High theme song and various other tracks from season 2.

  18. A new AP album was crowdfunded in 2021. Should be wrapped up soon now that he has completed his contributions to Clone High seasons 2 and 3!

I've got this person on instagram that found a cd mix while visiting their family house, there's stuff like The Starting Line, Rufio, Finch ;d ;d but one song that nobody can recognize, maybe somebody here will know what it is (?)

Sorta sounds like Thomas Dutton from Forgive Durden singing.

The production quality almost makes me think it is a local band

I love Forgive Durden ;u wouldn't catch that resemblence, and true, it might be something local, definitely a US sounding band (to my ears at least)

  23. sounds like a classic MP3.com/purevolume find. the song actually does ring a bell for me, but i can't place the specific band or anything. but it does sound vaguely familiar.

I have no guesses, but it really brings back some nostalgia for finding random bands on Purevolume back in the good ole days of the internet.

Same for me, it resembled some of my early purevolume finds, but I went back to listen to some of those, and they're totally different for sure - better quality too. Stuff like 504 Plan or Race The Sun
