If you listen to Pep talk though his whole thing is every year figuring out how to motivate the players and why you see almost a yearly refresh of players. That has slowed a bit over the years since he first came on but I think over the next few years a bigger refresh is going to happen. There was a Sam Lee article from the Athletic that talked about all of this. I mean there is even players on the team that won that would not think dislike Pep but stayed with the team because they know he will make them Champions, it was really insightful. It has to be an incredible challenge to not whole get yourself back up to fight the next year but that whole squad with you.

I think Pep's biggest goal and why he was brought in was to legitimize the Man City jersey, he has a phrase that teams like Madrid, Arsenal, and Bayern their jerseys have a weight when you put them on. That was his biggest thing to overcome with the City and winning the Champions League. City could have won a ton of Premier League titles and it still would not have weighed as much as some of those team's jerseys. I don't think its all the way there yet but it finally has a bit of weight to it.

This is the article I am talking about above. Must read in my book and really gives some good insight into the Bald Fraud.

This part of the article is still wild to me.

I feel like I watched an entirely different City than some of y'all. KdB and Silva are almost always watchable.

He turned John Stones into a version of Pirlo/Busquests of all things.

  8. The individual talent was still obvious. But the games I watched weren't the most entertaining as a whole.

Why are Italian teams always in financial trouble? I just read Roma are having to sell guys for that reason.

It depends what you want from football. I feel like there is little jeopardy with City, and that makes people say they are boring. It’s not their fault but Guardiola’s method is to control every element and make the game less unpredictable, and that is inherently boring for a neutral. The players are all impressive and their play is great, but I do find I have little interest in watching them compared to other teams.

I imagine Levy phoning United to ask for Sancho will end with him smashing his phone to pieces when United says they’ll only entertain a Kane swap

In short: corruption, less marketable than other leagues = less revenue/TV money, out-dated facilities, unsustainable youth set-ups and out-dated tactics/"boring" football = less desirable to newer audiences. There are some exceptions to the rule but yeah.

This will be music to Arsenal fans' ears, especially @SamLevi11. He wants to play in it to recapture form lol.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

Not many of the top flight teams own their own grounds either, which also limits the revenue.

I clown on him, but genuinely, I have no issue with him. He wanted to come to us, but Chelsea were the only one who got an offer accepted. I actually feel bad that he was made to move to a club he didn't want to go to, then lost all form.

That said, he does kinda seem like a prick.

It's his man management tactics that make him so successful.

Don’t worry about wins and losses - Just help these guys be the best version of themselves on and off the pitch. - Pep Guardiola

And he's sitting at home just beaming at the man Jack Grealish has become. Fantastic play maker on the pitch, fantastic party maker off of it.

Hopefully not just Mbappe playing the market for better terms at PSG.

  24. Dybala only having a 12m release clause is crazy

  25. Is Madrid the only likely destination?
