Will this group ever get back together?

Do you think this was calculated to drive more interest?

I can't see LS Dunes being full time for any of those guys

    Thoughts

    2. No.
    3. I don’t think that’s true either, only one I see it being a problem with is Travis

Didn’t they say in one of their first interviews that they do want to make LS Dunes a full time thing?

I mean they just released a new song and your dates, after the release of their album and tour supporting that. Seems pretty full time atm.

I think Ant is expecting to record for Saosin next year too though.

I’m sure they’ll get back together for something at some point, but I don’t think they’d have made such a point of announcing it, if they didn’t expect it to be a long hiatus.

We reach for the longest shadow

Coheed already seems to be working around Travis’ LS Dunes stuff with the way their most recent tour is split to allow time for the LS Dunes tour. Unfortunately it also seems like Travis isn’t very involved from a songwriting standpoint in Coheed much anymore.

Definitely not calculated, not their first hiatus as it seems, and only now it's the first one announces to the public, I'm not counting for a quick return of any sort. Also, how's L.S. Dunes not looking full time? They go all the way, and there's not much happening for any other of their bands, outside Coheed maybe as it's been mentioned

What makes you think he isn't involved much in the song writing?

No way he leaves coheed is there?

Yeah I’m not sure about Trav not being involved in Coheed songwriting. Would love to be wrong though

I think Claudio takes lead on songwriting in Coheed, especially considering he has the extra job of turning those albums into sci-fi narratives, but I'd genuinely be shocked if Travis and the other guys weren't giving input. Like, I could see Claudio demoing out songs on his own, but once they're in the studio I assume everyone else gets to add ideas and such. I don't know though.

We reach for the longest shadow

There was a track by track when Vaxis II came out where it was said Claudio basically cut/pasted Travis’ parts around on Love Murder One and I don’t think it came out the way Travis recorded it. That could’ve been an anomaly since most of that was recorded during COVID and they were separate most of the recording session. But it’s hard to deny Travis’ leads haven’t been the same since around Afterman, and listening to Claudio’s demos, there’s really not much added in terms of structure, rhythm, and lyrics/melodies. Not a bad thing, it seems like they still get along great from the outside looking in.
