already posted this in another thread but

Got jolted out of bed at like 1 AM by my dog freaking out at something. As I’m waking up I hear someone banging on the door and then eventually ring the doorbell, so the dog is stressed the hell out. I go look through the peephole (turns out it’s too dirty to see anything) so I just go back to the bedroom to get dressed so I can open the door.

Turns out it’s a cop, who just HAD to wake us up like that to ask about a car parked on the road to the side of the house. It’s my fiancé’s mom’s car, that’s been there since Sunday because she left on a small trip, and it just HAS to be moved to our driveway right then (I asked if I could just do it in the morning, since it was 1 AM) because someone from a neighborhood watch group was “worried about it” and the cop didn’t want anyone else to call about it

like dude the car's been there since Sunday afternoon and it's apparently such a problem that it had to be addressed at 1 AM?

yeah! I've only met my next door neighbor (older woman, teacher, she seemed nice) but no one else. Just the weirdest thing to be concerned about.

 

This is commonplace where I am too. I live in a condo that was slapped right in the middle of a very wealthy neighborhood, one of the neighbors gets cranky when I have people visit and they need to park on the street. She's been nicer since I found her dog wandering the streets and brought him back though.
