We reach for the longest shadow

I was a huge fan of this band when Obsession was their newest album. Is any of the new-ish stuff actually worth checking out? Just listened to the song that came out today and it was better than I would have expected it to be.

Yes. Barney has been on a roll since they came back. Both XVII and the covers album are excellent. Think XVII is probably their best since Vanity.

Days later all I have to say is Incendiary. This album has some of my favorite riffs ever from them. Brendan’s lyricism and delivery is top notch.

Release My Mind, My Garden Grows

New Buggin and Incendiary albums are both great times. Not really feeling the SPY record at all though. Very monotonous throughout imo, may just not be my preferred style of hardcore.

If we're getting pedantic: Spy > Buggin > Incendiary

To reiterate what I said in the Accountability thread - Sunny probably shouldn't have used the 300 clip or accused anyone of "main character syndrome" when he carries himself like he does (and let's face it - a lot of that is rightfully earned; dude's videography and archival work in the scene is unmatched). He just should have kept it at "don't touch my shit'".

The kick was also unneccesary and the comments on both sides trying to analyze it are internet comment slap fights at their best, but...eh...I'm sure we'll move on to the next hardcore controversy of the day before the end of the week.

Side note: I wish the hardcore scene would get as riled up about allegations of abuse as they are about one dude posting an incriminating video of himself making a dumb decision.

I was consistently surprised by the blatant disregard a select few were showing for his equipment and I’m not surprised he reacted how he did. There was so much room to share the stage, mosh and dive and he couldn’t have been much further off to the side than he was. Don’t care to weigh in too much but it’s kind of funny that this is a scandal in a scene where people get on stage and punch you in the face while you’re singing along lol

Fest was perfect, can’t wait for next year
