Incendiary…wow.

 

I'm on Host/Parasite and this is insane. Are some people tired of Putney? I still love the sound he gets for hardcore bands.

 

I don’t think so. I personally think Putney is great for a full heavy hardcore record. Taylor Young is great too. I think both do a really good job. There’s a reason they are very sought after.

Edit: brick top is also pumping out a lot of good hardcore.

 

He did a good job on the last Incendiary record but on the new singles his production sucks the life out of the tracks. He’s got some hits (i.e. Errorzone) but he’s extremely overrated.

 

Brick Top is Andy Nelson right? I think they do great work

 

I guess I just like the sound he gets. He mixed/mastered that new Judiciary album, I love the sound on the most recent Knocked Loose album... dunno, I could keep going, just seems like more often than not when I'm vibing with a hardcore-adjacent release, I check the producer and he's always there.

 

Yep Brick Top is Andy. I personally prefer Brick Top and The Pit recordings too because I think they have less sheen to them and I do prefer that in my hardcore, but I understand from an overall recording standpoint and a band trying to push things to a certain level or reach wanting Putney's style.

 

I’m getting super nit picky here lol but I don’t love the drum production on his records. Guitars sound nasty though.

 

I’ll have to listen to that more. I’m normally with you on being picky with drums, but nothing egregious jumps out to me at the moment.

 

Incendiary is unreal, absolute ripper.

Also got to see Drain last night on the first date of the tour and they fucking killed it.

New incendiary is incredible, need them to come to Texas soon so I can see these songs live.

 

Just echoing how insanely good the new Incendiary is. The riff at the end of ‘Rats in the Cellar’ makes me want to run through walls

 

“Rats in the Cellar” is my favorite, great track. Going to have to give the whole thing a few more listens but I don’t love it.

 

Incendiary fucking ripped at Adjacent yesterday. The new songs sounded great
