The Runaways isn’t a big loss. It’s a fun show, but I had no interest in a rewatch. Maybe Marvel is planning to bring the runaways into the canon MCU so they don’t want the show to confuse people?

But seriously, I don't know that there's any real rhyme or reason to what shows Disney is choosing to vault. I mean, they vaulted Willow and that only finished running earlier this year. There' s clearly a monetary reason for it, just don't know what that is.

 

A lot of what I’ve read says it’s either due to not having to pay residuals and/or tax write-offs. Still bizarre imo to shelf stuff that was released so recently… seems to be the route a lot of studios are going with their streaming services.

I believe that is Morph. The bottom right is Sunspot I'm pretty sure

 

I thought it might be, but the costume isn't one I'm familiar with and I don't think he ever showed up in the original cartoon.

 

I don't remember him either in the original either. Probably a new main character for this series

The general consensus now (according to scoopers who are agreeing with each other)

Mephisto purchased Avengers tower and he is in possession of a tech company. Most of his screen time will be in his human form (Sasha Baron Cohen). The Hood will be stealing more tech for him and this brings Iron Heart into it. Fisk is also aware of his presence over his determination to rule over NYC. All of this will culminate with Armor Wars.

 

Why would Mephisto run a tech company in New York? It sounds very small-time/OOC for him.

I also just don't like that that's how he's going to be introduced/utilized. He ideally should be doing something supernatural vs. Strange or Blade (or making Faustian deals with Spider-Man lol).

 

with Fisk involved I’m just going to guess that Mephisto will be involved with whatever conflict Fisk has with Peter.

 

I enjoy that YouTube and other areas of the internet have videos recapping character histories and whatnot. As someone who has never really connected with comics or known superhero/villains histories it’s been a blast to go down some of those rabbit holes. Prior to YouTube/Reddit/wherever I’m not sure how someone would learn this outside of having friends that read comics so a rare +1 for internet!

Also learning that different writers and artists have taken characters in different directions / timelines / origin stories, etc. also has made a lot more sense to me because my mind thought that every characters stories were linear so I would always be puzzled with how characters that have been around 30-60+ years keep getting stories written unless everyone was immune to death.

Recently started randomly diving into Silver Surfer history because he was a favorite as kid because he’s silver and has a fucking surfboard so that was cool. Also diving into this Kang character as, no surprise based on this post, I have never even heard that name before, so curious to learn that info.

 

Subtitles for the Brazilian NWH mentioned Miles Morales as Peter’s neighbor.

This lines up with leaks from last year that Marvel was planning on Peter and Miles sharing a building.

 

Really hoping they go the route of the game and have one movie where Miles doesn’t have powers and just becomes friends with Peter.
