what's with the pessimistic outlook? We "just" need a win...

Lost a lot of faith over the years is my short reasoning, ha. Our home form against "fodder" teams of recent history is appalling, Bournemouth have played us off the park twice this season already, etc.

everything pretty understandable. I guess we're just different types. I am generally an optimistic guy. The whole week I had that tiny little hope that Dortmund might fuck up and we would be champions. And look how that panned out...

I'm not a negative guy in general, just Everton bring out that edge in me haha. I could reverse your faith, though; what if Bournemouth do to Everton what Mainz did to Dortmund? For example, Mainz time wasted near the corner flag around the 80 minutes mark even in spite of the fact they had nothing to play for. That sort of thing tomorrow is a genuine fear I have now.

I know Messi's status in football has been discussed to death but what I rarely see discussed is where he stands across ALL sports. Could it be that he's the greatest athlete of all time now? I must admit, I don't watch too much of NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, etc so I was wondering if people who do in this thread would share their thoughts.

I think Messi stands comfortably alongside Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Serena, Steffi Graf, Michael Phelps, Usain Bolt, Jordan, Kobe, Lebron in our general lifetimes. Maybe even above them at this point. Truly insane the tennis talent this generation produced.

Phelps is still a notch above for me as best athlete of all time, but I’d put Messi above most others on your list

For me, NFL and MLB are not even in consideration because those sports are not really played worldwide. But apart from that, Messi is surely among the greatest without a doubt.

It's a real shame that one or both of Everton or Leicester are going down. Both teams I really like and that don't deserve it (the boards/ owners maybe do, but not the fans).

Is it too late swap them places in the table with Wolves and West Ham?

    hmmm

I want Leeds to stay up but they look incapable of a win. That Everton equaliser against Wolves is potentially huge.

Fernando Alonso couldn’t win Monaco, now it’s time to watch Spurs shit the bed, and Poch is official to Chelsea. Off to a great start today

  18. I was ok with Poch to Chelsea until I saw the story about Poch waiting for the phone call from Spurs and he never got it. He wanted to come back and we didn't even talk to him.

Have Everton considered simply pressuring the centerbacks?

On the plus side for Spurs, this might mean you have a very realistic chance of winning a trophy next year
