Just finished the album.. truly forgettable stuff.

 

Giving Up is one of my fave tracks ever from this band

 

This is so much better than Heartwork. That was such a letdown after the yuckiness that was The Canyon or whatever it was called.

Would be 8th if The Canyon had listenable production

 

The Canyon has some gems. Over And Over Again is such a good song. But yeah that production is rough.

 

The Canyon is an all-timer for me, sorrynotsorry.

 

I'd take an ambitious hot mess like Canyon over a focus grouped nothingburger like this any day of the week

Unfortunately very forgettable and just… average album. Couple of OK songs but really there are no highs?

I really enjoyed Heartwork and the wide range of sounds and experimentation, despite some of its clunkers I find it to be a VASTLY superior record to this… and the rollout for TP has been bizarre.

Substitute in a few tracks from Heartwork Deluxe and drop the spoken word track and Heartwork could have been a complete classic front-to-back (still probably my favourite Used album though)!

 

Relistening to In Love And Death and I didn't really notice until now how much MCR influence is on that album.

Vulnerable and Imaginary Enemy are so faceless and forgettable that they might actually be worse than The Canyon, which just needs better production, and the new one, which at least has a personality
