Highly doubt they conflict.. it'll be Death Cab-Queens-Postal main stages if I had to take a guess

Will Foos and Turnstile conflict though?

Ya I looked back at a few lineups and the 2nd billed of the day is more often than not the Roots closer.

I think Turnstile will close the 2nd main stage right before the Foos

Same, I don’t think any of the subheadliners will overlap the headliner.

    except QOTSA

Yeah, I'm assuming the main stages each day will be Turnstile --> Foo Fighters, Death Cab --> QOTSA --> Postal Service, and then Mars Volta --> The Cure

My yearly playlist creation is going well, first time listening to the Dresden Dolls, this is very cool.

Random thought: Does anyone get the feeling that The Cure wasn’t the intended third headliner?

I was just thinking about it interesting it was that they got The Cure considering their show in Chicago next month. Granted, the show is completely sold out, so I guess it gives folks a second chance to see them, but it doesn’t really seem like Riot to book an act that big that’s already playing in the area this year.

I can’t help but think that Riot had a different headliner in that slot that ended up bailing, so The Cure was their backup band.

Maybe I’m thinking about this too much… My brain wanders during my traffic-filled commute home from work.

I'm excited for Foos assuming they don't conflict with Turnstile. I had actually completely forgotten that I saw them in 2017 in Champaign until seeing them mentioned for this fest.

Having The Cure as a back up plan means they have something bigger as first option, which gave us very few options

I had this same feeling. Felt kind of strange. Not going to argue because I’m pumped to see them, but felt the same.

They’ve been playing songs from their new album. It has a title. My guess is that they’ll be supporting it further this fall and RF is part of that tour.

Yeah, like it’s awesome that they’re playing, don’t get me wrong. But I def wouldn’t have guessed them.

Stoked for everyone that gets to go!

AF owns it now, the odds of having shows there is much higher than it was before!

Idk, QOTSA seems like such a strange lead-in for The Postal Service that I'm thinking either:

    a. QOTSA will be counter-programming on Rise
    b. QOTSA will close out Roots leading to a (perhaps extended) combined Postal Service/Death Cab set on Riot (which is honestly what the poster seems to imply in my opinion).

I'm excepted an extended set for Postal Service/DCFC. I'm with you on what the poster implies - it'll be one extended set.

I think they were intended all along, if anything the June Chicago was a surprise. But with how that played out, it still makes sense to have them as the headliner because a lot of Chicagoans couldn’t get tickets.

  24. Was thinking about a couple bands that reunited/played shows this year that didn't end up on here (in descending order of surprise that they aren't on the lineup): Copeland, I Am the Avalanche, Gatsby's American Dream, and Houston Calls.

Would love to see all of them at some point.

If I remember correctly there is an interview with members of DCFC where they imply the tour will be an extended set where DCFC ends and immediatly Postal service begins. Considering both albums are 45min long, it make sense giving them a 1.5hr set for both as it is what Riot usually gives to headliners
