Engaging ep but am I naive in thinking it's flimsy that ATN calling it is of any actual consequence? (for America, not the deal/family stuff)

 

I do buy that a major conservative network calling the election would give him momentum and credibility going forward which was brought up in the episode, but yeah it wouldn’t decide an election particularly if the other major networks were not calling it.

 

I know this gave off combinations of 2016 and 2020 vibes but goddamnit I’ll just never get over 2000 when an election was actually stolen. It’s hard to overstate how different things could have been if Florida went to Gore like it should have. I wasn’t old enough to vote in 2000 but I was old enough in to understand as it was happening the irreversible damage Bush/Cheney did for 8 years

I think they were both at 262 with Wisconsin called? Arizona going red is what gave him the “win”

 

Maybe calling it too early blows up in their faces, sending the stock spiraling down and thus Mattison easily takes over and pushes all the Roys out.

Also.... Shiv going scorched earth.... she knows that Kendall killed that waiter

there’s two episodes left. the next one is the funeral. maybe it’ll come up in the finale but i doubt it.

 

Yeah I totally thought there were teeing up some Electoral College fuckery beyond the calling by the network stuff.

 

I just feel that Shiv is going to retaliate and Matsson is going to push her to see what leverage they can use. The dead waiter is all she really has on Ken, and she'll likely go with Gerri to get to Roman.

 

I feel like calling the election is going to blow up and Tom is going to get thrown under the bus right away and eventually Shiv will team with the old guard folks to take out her brothers.
But that’s also kind of too obvious so I’m sure I’m wrong, I’m just going to enjoy the ride

 

yeah if shiv tells anyone it’ll be the frank/gerri types, not mattson

 

Feels like we would have gotten at least one reference to it this season if that was happening.

At this point with every move Shiv tries to make blowing up in Shiv's face this season it feels like her using the dead waiter to try and take down Kendall won't do anything

Also am I crazy, or is it already public? But only reported on by trashy National Inquirer-esque media

 

I think the tabloid thing was claiming that the waiter killed himself because Logan berated and fired him, which is why they visited the family in S2

 

their was a podcast too that discussed the skeletons in the Roys' closets but nothing specifically about Kendall killing the kid

 

I am hearing some theories that this will end with Mattson taking over and Greg as his puppet CEO. I don't 100% disagree that could be a possibility.

 

Torn on if shiv would bring up the waiter, would destroy her too so it would really just have to be out of pure spite. I suppose with the Tom situation thrown in she could lose it and go nuclear but doesn’t line up well with how methodically self serving they’ve been in their actions.

The dead waiter stuff was alluded to multiple times during the "previously on" segment before the S4 premiere, including him telling Shiv and Roman.

 

well, yeah, it was one of the biggest moments of the end of the prior season. that doesn't mean it's coming up again.

 

With 2 episodes to go, anything is on the table. The connheads will rise again

 

I've thought this for a while now that Greg is the one who somehow ends up on top. I believe he is the third "Roy" we actually see in the first episode. We actually meet him before Shiv or Roman.
