Yeah...seems to be the case for all of the 25 dollar ticket shows (which is also the reason they are part of the discount)...I did notice that there are no longer 25 dollar tickets to Manchester Orchestra/JEW and Beck in NY though

That would have been my assumption, but the Weezer show was on for Cleveland (even though it said $25 tickets were 'sold out') and the Weezer show seems to be selling pretty well.

Bayside was on there too. The balcony for Bayside appears to be nearly sold out. Don't know about GA, but it's not dark blue on Live Nation.

Didn't realize they were big enough to play the Greek in LA

That's the whole point of this initiative. It's to get people into the building at a cheap cost so they're more apt to spend money on concessions (which is where LN makes the majority of their profit).

The Offspring and AAR tours were basically designed to not draw well. Even with stacked lineups those tours would be lucky to draw 4-7K at 18-2K cap venues in most markets. This is about getting tours that’ll keep these venues running and making concession sales. Since LN has a monopoly and owns all these venues it’s still probably somewhat profitable for them.

I think they're probably counting on a mixed pull with the other artists as Two Another have pretty solid streaming numbers too. The venue I saw them at last Oct was 1,000 cap and was with the Knocks, and it was maybe sold out (questionable). The new venue in my market is an 1,800 cap so a good step up.

somehow got a Rod Stewart ticket for $25 in the lower ORCH, regular price was like $160 before fees.

Not a bad warmup this weekend before Sick New World, despite the jarring difference in styles. haha

While you're most likely correct on just getting people in the venue for concession sales, the venue in CLE could have just closed off the lawn completely and been a pavilion only show for The Offspring (which would still allow for nearly 6,000). They are doing that for several other shows this summer (Yellowcard, The Used)

Totally agree. I was shocked that the AAR was playing an 18K amphitheater here. It’ll draw 3-4K at most. I can’t see that being profitable. They would have been better off playing a 5-7K venue.

I feel they will need bigger opening acts for it to be sold put, the same way TSSF and Joyce Manor did

    no way… which show?

The closest tickets I came across for Rod Stewart in any venue was the 300 sections in Vegas.

they sold out wiltern last year pretty quickly with smaller openers. I think they can do it, especially if out of state fans travel for it.

Movements can definitely play big rooms in Southern California

I wonder if shows like The Offspring and AAR are more profitable than shows than fill the amphitheater with a 15k audience under 18 who don't spend money on the $14 Bud Lights

Holy shit…those vids from first night of the Beyoncé tour. She really told every other act touring a stadium to hold her beer, fucking spectacle.

35 songs…that Britney Spears “Toxic” interpolation on “Thique” is perfection.

They are doing an amphitheatre show in Chicagoland, where all 3 bands (if I'm not mistaken) in this tour performed last year at smaller venues. Plus, 145 dollars for a pit ticket beofore fees is straight up robbery. It's hard to imagine someone paying close to $200 for pit tickets to see The Offspring in 2023.

so I got told last summer, that some of these shows are just meant to draw people and make some money, they have low guarantees, they don’t open every concession stand, don’t bring in every employee. So I’m sure at this point even those half empty shed tours still make money. I’m sure there are also some that don’t.

A lot of shows that are happening in the 20,000 cap amphitheater in San Diego are performing very poorly, they have The Offspring, Garbage + Noel Gallagher, Duran Duran, Smashing Pumpkins, Godsmack, Avenged Sevenfold, Culture Club and they all look like there's 3/4 of the tickets available. The bad thing is that we don't have a 10,000 cap venue here that is owned by Live Nation so those shows could look packed. Also the prices are way too high for the shows.

Under attended shows in large venues always make me feel kinda sad. The energy just isn’t there and it sometimes reflects on stage.

The Garbage/Noel Gallagher never made sense to me. I know venues need shows, but that specific package wont move the needle for many.

They're selling us 2 quarters for a dollar.

Idk, Garbage is pretty great live but they did tour extensively with Alanis last year.
