So I made the mistake of eating some gummies before Evil Dead Rise and they didn't kick in until shit started going down hard and my anxiety hit the fucking roof so I had to leave. That one's on me. Gonna try it again sober this time lol.

Okay, The Third Saturday in October movies are fun lol definitely clumsy and not always in an on-purpose, homage kind of way (the second/"original" film was a bit more grating in this way), but the right ingredients are there, they look pretty good, and the vibes are mostly right. Definitely feels tailor-made for a VinSyn/Terror Vision release though. Surprisingly, I preferred the first one (Part V) by a decent amount.

 

What exactly are these movies and have I been understanding the "parts" wrong? I need context I think haha

 

‘The Third Saturday in October Part V’ Review – Infectious Slasher Homage Recreates the Video Store Era

Basically they made a Part V of a slasher series that didn't exist. It's made to look like it came out in the 90s and has a lot of Part V tropes. Then they also made a Part I, but they recommend watching V first.

So disgustingly excited and hope this is lots of fun. I read the book earlier this year and its a bonkers story. Excited to see what Ben Wheatley will do with it and while I'm not expecting more than a gory shark popcorn movie, his name being attached certainly has me all the more curious

 

Woah, did anyone see Inside with Willem Dafoe? I've been waiting for this movie to come out and had no idea it was in Peacock. Def going to watch that tonight

 

I wonder what this is about.

 

Okay I have 20 minutes left but this no-budget black horror film on Peacock and Tubi is wild and strange and super endearing in the best way

Inside was just okay. Dafoe is great, but wish it went more off the deep end.

 

It was good! Ending leaves a little to be desired, and ironically, the film is a bit of an endurance test (trimming even 15 minutes would tighten up), but if you're into that premise, you're gonna have a good time with it. Just one of those movies where you know right away. Dafoe is great as expected

 

It's awesome lol crazy first-time acting and directing going on here, and somehow being able to see the seams makes it even more charming

 

lol The Monkey kinda sucks.

 

This is huge.

 

Jenna Ortega cast as Winona Ryder's daughter in Beetlejuice 2. You love to see it.
