    Die rad.

I live in Jersey, but fly into Charlotte for work monthly and ALWAYS try to stop at Lunchbox. What a great store and selection. I even have one of their magnets on my fridge lol.

About time Discogs started to address the scammers issue that has gotten worse these past few days/weeks.

These "too good to be true" listings has been creeping on the last few months, but RSD cemented that. A buddy of mine legimately wants to sell stuff on discogs but can't get any traction cause he has no seller rating. So another bud is using his discogs to list them.

I knew something was up when I started to see listings of Sara Bareilles "Kaleidoscope Heart" and Counting Crows "This Desert Life" going for $50USD.

Glad to see they've got things in motion to mitigate these listings/accounts.

Who do I have to bribe to get both of these re-pressed? I honestly can't believe it hasn't happened already; demand for both seems like it would be through the roof.

Those seem like very simple records to have ready to go on black. It’s not like those are early albums by a niche artist.

Really glad I decided against collecting The 1975's discography on vinyl. I wanted to get all of them in the clear variant, but after seeing the nonsense surrounding the RSD release, I'm gonna skip buying any of em. I love that band and they've made some of my favorite records of the last decade, but the artificial scarcity BS is ridiculous IMO. They knew the demand for this release. What's stopping them from just doing a standard black repressing so at least people can get it on vinyl period? I didn't even attempt to purchase it, I'm more upset for everyone else that's dealt with the scalpers and scammers.

    I know!

Well This Desert Life has boots circulating in the wild if you're into that stuff. But if I recall the master tapes were destroyed in a fire, along with Recovering the Satellites.

I have the 2017 AAEA and RT represses and I'm sure they're digital masters anyways, which I guess is fine. But I'd rather not drop a grand for an OG TDL! I'll stick to streaming for that one for now. Hard Candy needs a first press as well.

if they don't want to make more money off of that release, someone should just make a bootleg

  15. Noticed there’s a copy of The Graduate’s Only Every Time up on Discogs for $100. A great record that is very hard to come by, looks like the last one sold in 2021 for $180. I’d jump on it myself but the timing isn’t right for me

Received my copy of Chuck from Beatnick today! They sent me the regular RSD green release. It was superbly packed. Very happy, considering it was only $35.

  18. Yeah, same. That one’s been on my wantlist foreeeever because I didn’t start collecting until a couple years after it was pressed. With only about 350 copies of it out there I imagine it’s a “too meaningful to part with” album to most anyone with it on their shelves

  19. I have two Anhedonia and one Only Every Time and a copy of the EP and it's definitely up there as ones I consider luckiest to have.

Has anyone ever had a boot made, like through Kunaki?

I'm beginning to lose hope that Mutemath's first album is ever going to be repressed. If it sounds decent enough I'll just do it myself.

Paul said he has a few left over he wanted to put up at random times on the Mutemath website in the near future, so i have IG notifications on for Mutemath. closest i have to a boot is one of the 12 lathe cut copies of Of Brighter Days by Author that intheclouds.io made a number of years back. sounds pretty decent.

I’ve really got you to thank for putting me on about that Author lathe cut. That’s one of my all time favorite records and I never knew they did that. I swiped a lone copy on Discogs about a month ago and am now the proud owner of 12/12. Agreed on the sound too, expected it to be worse but came away impressed. So thank you for posting about it!
