Yup, that's definitely what they're going for here. I know they do this sort of thing with comedy shows a lot. But there's a big difference in venue sizes here. LOL

Trying to "paper the room" and get thousands of people to attend for free and assume they are going to make-up any difference in money via drink purchases is... Probably not going to be an effective move.

Nevermind the poor will toward the people who paid $$$ for tickets early on. Honestly, if I bought tickets to this thing at any level I would be os bummed out at this point.

 

This should have been held in a college basketball arena lol. I’ll never understand why John felt the need to hold it at a literal decommissioned air strip

Now to try and find a way into Saturday for free

 

Wouldn't be surprised if they do something similar for Saturday/Sunday in the coming days. Then again, Friday is by far the weaker of the three days.

I did also just see somebody on IG saying they supposedly spoke with a member of BLG who said they dropped, yes, because the singer's partner was expecting, but they also hadn't been paid yet and at the time the festival had only sold 3k tickets (which was part of the decision/helped it along).

No way to verify that obviously, but if it's true it definitely feeds into the running theory that it was just a convenient excuse.

 

that actually sounds very plausible and real. A big red flag with festivals is when deposits are due to be paid. That’s typically when a lot of fests fall apart cause a lot of the time that’s a sign of the fest really struggling so they pull the plug and that way they didn’t pay for merch, travel etc. they just cut their losses.

 

I mean there have been music festivals and other events there held in the past so it's not like he just picked a random location. It made sense for this scale of a festival if it actually were to draw similar numbers to 2012

 

It might have made sense for the scale of the lineup he thought he booked, but not the lineup he actually booked.

 

I feel so bad for people who actually paid for tickets

If anyone finds Saturday, please post. Will be in AC that weekend and a lap of the festival grounds and seeing limp bizkit would be a good way to end the bamboozle experience

Careful wearing shirts with vulgarity at this festival. Remember that John D is targeting high school kids as the primary demo here and we don't want them to get exposed to such blue language so early in their lives.
