My favorite moment tied to blink is when my mom got me TOYPAJ on cassette,I put it in my Walkman at my grandparents kitchen for the first time and the intro of Anthem Part II started…..I’ll never forget that moment.
I was 10 and it felt like I got all the power in the whole world haha

My first memory of hearing blink was in fifth grade before the first boy-girl party I ever went to. My friend Justin who was hosting the party and I were getting ready in his bedroom upstairs before anyone showed up, gelling our hair and picking out which ugly button down shirt to wear, and his older brother was playing Dude Ranch on his stereo in the next bedroom over. I went in to borrow some cologne cause I was hoping to kiss a girl for the first time that night, asked who he was listening to, and the rest was history.

We played spin the bottle downstairs and it landed on the most popular girl in class for me. We also ended up getting matched up for 7 minutes in heaven later in the night. That ruled

Earliest Blink memory was catching WMAA on MTV at a sleepover. I remember I was sitting in one of those video game rocker chairs. I think I was wearing this same drip.

This thread makes me feel old. But someday maybe my almost 4 year old daughter will be on here going on about how Pin the Grenade was her first favorite blink song and I'll feel even older.

This is so vivid and reminiscent of what many of us went through at that age. Love this.

    Things have changed.

Friend put EOTS into my Discman during a summer camp field trip in the summer of 1999. I was 12 and "Dumpweed" changed my life forever.

Hey speak for yourself. My awkward ass was definitely not getting invited to play spin the bottle and 7 minutes in heaven in grade school haha

Being deeply in the closet, I absolutely dreaded those parties lol

I was late to the party for blink. Right around when self titled was coming out I had to make a PowerPoint presentation for computer class on different artists in a genre and I got rock. My best friend loved blink so I threw them in there. I downloaded some of their songs to play when I made their slide, and I got HOOKED by STFTK

Speaking of the closet, my earliest memory of listening to blink is in an actual closet lol.
Lived in a two family house, and my aunt, uncle, and three cousins were in the second part.
My cousins room had a big closet and we thought it was so cool. We made it into a space to hang listen ton music and play games
She got a copy of dude ranch and I remember thinking degenerate was the funniest thing- and we could never let our parents know we were listening lol.
I was 11 and it was true love.

Ha yeah, I bought Dude Ranch in the fall of 1997 after hearing Damnit on the radio. At the time, I remember liking the album but my discman was dominated that school year (97-98) more by Nimrod, Third Eye Blind s/t, Aenema, The Colour & The Shape, Ixnay On The Hombre and OK Computer much more than Dude Ranch was.

I would have been the older brother in this scenario and been annoyed that my younger siblings were enjoying my music haha.

You remember when Blink also played Roseland before TOYPAJ came out and Sum 41 opened?

Fair haha. We used to annoy him our fair share, but he also got me into Bad Religion, Lagwagon, NOFX, Social Distortion, and pretty much punk rock in general, so I’m super thankful he was around lol

  16. I am the oldest in my family, so I was always showing my little brothers the music I was into.

But despite me trying to shove the band Everclear down my one brother's throat, he still insisted on buying Eiffel 65's CD and the Pokemon soundtrack, and he would be in his room blasting "Blue" and JUST the Pokemon theme song (on repeat.) I've never forgiven him haha.

I think the first blink song I actively remember listening to was Adam's Song? It was on a Big Shiny Tunes if any of y'all are Canadian hahaha

I remember watching the visualizer effects on Windows Media Player listening to it, and it being by far my favorite from that compilation

Random but funny thought after reading a convo in the Discord. I was trying to remember if the packaging of the TOYPAJ deluxe editions had the bonus songs listed on the different versions.

Then I thought, "No, that's stupid." Because my mom would have definitely not bought me the one that had "When You Fucked Grandpa" listed.....and instead would have bought the one with the song called "Mother's Day".

Shoutout to leaving in the NYC area of the US and getting MuchMusic Canada. That's how and why I ended up owning CD's from Our Lady Peace, Moist, Matthew Good Band, Econoline Crush, The Tea Party and Gob.
