I saw on B&C's Twitter a list of record stores you can buy Light We Made from, and that a free Postcard 7" with a b-side called "Revelation" comes with it. I'm assuming that's this song?

About to listen for the first time and based on what I've read here I'm stoked!

 

What label is this on?

 

I think Loam is best suited to close the album out of all the songs here and does a good job of fulfilling its role as the closer. The isolated drumbeat at the end thats repeated at the end is a cool way to close out the song and the album in my opinion. It just feels like the most "final" track to me, for whatever reason.

 

I don't think I've ever liked this band before, but I thought this album was great on first listen

 

Also reading what Jon has to say about Loam helps place it as the closer. It, for him at least, serves as the conclusion or summation of a lot of the themes on the record.

Yeah, after reading that I get it more and also agree it is the most suited as a closer, but it still isnt all that final in anything but theme. I feel like it would have worked best as a midpoint for the record rather than the last song.

 

Yeah this record is awesome. Great dynamic between guitars and the bass sounds so good. As much as I defend Yip, I will say that I wish the drums were more crisp, or had a little pop to them

I just realized the guitar line in Mediocre Love is very similar to the one in Hole in the Earth by Deftones.

 

Fair enough. I disagree, although I'd agree its sentiments of finality aren't quite as strong as I typically prefer out of a closer. But thats only if I'm really nitpicking, I think it's an excellent way to end the album.

 

Spinning should have been the first single. The guitar line that runs through the chorus is so dope

 

i would have been half as interested in this record if they hadn't released postcard first
maybe the opener but that would have gotten my expectations too high

 

Spinning sounds most like their other stuff to me. Would've made sense as the first single but I like postcard more

 

Fame is the catchiest song they've ever written so that's my vote for what should've been a single
