    Why no new episode?

That's quite South Park of them to do; they'll just randomly not show an episode a certain week, with no apparent reason why

Maybe they didn't finish it on time.

Was always planned not to be a new one this week, no idea why though

The delay gives them more post-election episodes. It also is not a bad week to miss with the southeast more concerned with the storm.

It was planned; there's a schedule online somewhere. It basically airs in the following sets:

    3
    (skip)
    3
    (skip)
    2

    2

So that pushes it into December. It is possible that was supposed to coincide with the new video game, at least before it was delayed.

I was wondering if the season was going to wrap up before the new president gets elected.

Yeah, they had built-in breaks last year too. I think they may have had them the year before as well but I can't remember.

At this point, they've reduced their yearly episode count from 14 to 10, changed to only do the show in the fall instead of the old "7 in spring, 7 in fall" schedule, and now are taking sporadic breaks. Making the show the way they do, it's understandable that they need the breaks, as the 6-day crunch time is grueling and the guys aren't getting any younger, but one almost has to wonder if they wouldn't be better served making them in advance now. I understand why they don't want to do that (because even though they're going fully-serialized they still want to sprinkle in topical elements, especially in an election year) but it's just a thought I've had.

Unrelated, but on GameInformer.com they're doing an entire month of coverage on The Fractured But Whole, as the game is on the cover of the magazine. Here's a link to the hub:

I assume the breaks are scheduled around the fact that, probably, they're under a ton of pressure to have an amazing episode the day after the election

That's a really ugly amount of breaks.

I mean, compared to Netflix shows, sure. But to most shows on TV? That's nothing.

    It's all perspective, man.

Yeah, I've lost track of watching lots of shows throughout the years because of breaks and waited until netflix. I don't watch many shows with more than one break. It's something I really don't like.

If Trump wins, the next episode should just be a stream of CNN, because they couldn't write anything funnier or more fucked up.

I agree with viva, the dark weeks are so annoying. Scream Queens picking up steam and then a week off, this doing the same, Bobs Burgers seems to be on one week and off two. Just kills momentum and the urge to follow something on a week to week basis.

If year gaps in between movie sequels don't make me any less excited for them, a couple weeks won't kill me. Esp since I just wait for them to pop up on my DVR.

I like television to have a flow to it, I wouldn't compare it to waiting for a movie sequel to me.

My god, this week's episode is called "Weiners Out", haha. Clip on the SP FB of all the kids, lead by Butters with a megaphone, at school marching down the hallway with their pants down.

I really enjoyed this episode. Was really expecting some kind of half-hearted Harambe reference with that episode title but was surprised to get "Butters the Mens' Rights Activist" instead. It's also crazy to me that I'm legitimately looking forward to next week's episode of South Park to see where the story goes next.

"There's still a part of men that have a problem with women having power" actually did sum up everything pretty simply.

Some good jokes but I am lost on what this is all building to at this point.
