Didn't see this posted but looks like they are going to change this. I know we talked about it in here recently.

 

Sorry if this is covered in the article, but isn’t the issue that they are different league systems tun by different entities, and to change the way teams get promoted or relegated between them you need the approval of all the teams? Which teams in the professional football league system generally don’t want, for obvious reasons.

Kind of like how over in America they could have technically have a promotion/relegation system, as they have a kind of “second tier” league IIRC, but the MLS teams and owners would never agree to it.

Came to post that, 100% agree. Mic'd refs is absolutely the next innovation needed. At the absolute bare minimum, conversations with VAR should be broadcast similar to cricket, rugby etc.

 

There's pro/rel in Liga MX but I'm not entirely sure how that works and I think you can buy your way out of relegation.

I’m planning on going to that in Atlanta. I think it’s two games with Chelsea, Brighton, Newcastle, Brentford.

 

Napoli getting knocked out by Milan is not something I was expecting at all.

 

I’m patiently waiting for United to announce their summer dates. Might make a trip out of it and book a train instead of driving if there’s a date that works.
