the beginning of luna is one of my favorite moments of any song ever haha

 

Luna was nuts at Eaux Claires. They put on such a great show and it was beautiful to see people who wouldn't normally listen to that genre vibe with them SUPER hard.

 

Our Lady Peace is another artist where the vocals can take some getting used to, but they are my favorite band ever and I love Raine Maida's voice lol

I see a lot of praise for Sunbather from people that I share a lot of musical interests from, but I don't get it. What sets it apart from other heavy music? When I listened, I heard a wall of sound.

I think because it's super accessible. It does nothing new but it does it well enough to attract people who wouldn't normally listen to that style of music. It's viewed fairly negatively from people who primarily listen to heavy music, however.

Ah. Okay. I don't have anything against it. I haven't seen any negative reviews on it, but then again I don't follow them closely either. I was more curious as to what was pulling people in.

All this talk about Deafheaven reminds me about the "metalheads" that were mad when that album Sunbather got consistent praise, arguing about its authenticity.

I primarily listen to heavy music and it's one of the best albums ever.
