It's always a Good Friday when you got some new wax to spin for the weekend!

 

Feel like there’s been a big uptick in eco-vinyl the last couple years - positive environmental aspect is awesome, but I also really love opening a record and having no idea what it’s gonna look like. In my experience they always sound great too

 

Agreed. I have a copy of KG by King Gizzard on recycled black vinyl and it sounds fantastic.

Spinning through the almighty ISIS box set this evening.

One of my prized items in the collection. A local dude was selling it during the pandemic, he drove up to my place and we chatted about music and our jobs for an hour in my driveway. Really cool guy.

Later on I was listening to the band Burning Love randomly and went on reading about them. Only realizing the guy I bought the set off of was the guitarst of the band!

WDTWU is the 2012 repress. Self Help has a funny story:

I was jamming it a few years ago (on Spotify) and posted on Facebook about wanting it on vinyl and the wife of one of my old band mates DM’d me and said she worked with the bassist. He gave her that copy to give to me. Insane!

 

That's sweet! Wonder if it's still available, on that labels website that released it years ago. Apparently the site was still legit up until a year ago...

I worked with this guy who's close friends with Shane from Silverstein. I asked him to see if he still had copies of Counterparts first album Prophets sitting around since he released it on his own label, he never did get back to me on that.

This wasn’t on my radar at all but I saw an email from Smartpunk about it and couldn’t resist. What a weird release to press when their other actual albums are still waiting to see the light of day. But I love this split, so I’ll be glad to have it.

The split was on Temporary Residence and that’s why it’s been widely available even while their non-Victory records have become hard to find (with the Island ones being rarer than the Epitaph ones obviously)
