The Kardashians have done plenty to get to where they are. Even still, that doesn't matter when MK has had a history of being problematic and has now basically promoted violence against women, even if it wasn't necessarily "intentional". The real reprehensible part is him not really apologizing and being extremely condescending about the whole thing.

As others have said above, she was in a traumatic situation and is just as much a human as any of us. It's sad to see such toxic aggression towards a woman just being she has money

 

Why should we not respect her? Why should we not treat her as a human being? Why is she undeserving of the respect you're giving Mike Kinsella?

 

For the vitriol the Kardashian women are subjected to, you think they all would have murded thousands.

alright. im not in defense of what Kinsella said by any means, but i do think we could probably move away from any further discussion on the matter. i think we can all agree it was wrong, everything that can be said, has been said in this thread. i just feel like continuing to beat the dead horse is going to somehow cause contention. He messed up, we can all agree on that.

 

i still don't personally see mike's statement as sexism (in a bubble at least, who knows if he would have made the statement if kanye went through the same thing) but it was still gross to say either way that anyone who isn't an awful human being deserves what happened to her

 

You said that men struggle with sexist comments, and you're not wrong, as men seem to be the ones that do it the most, but I've known and worked with lots of women who also struggle with this. I'm not trying to start anything, of course, but I'm just saying it isn't specifically men that are the problem.

 

Okay well we're talking about a man who made very sexist and shitty remarks against a woman. Why are you trying to turn the light off of him and put it on women instead?

I dont think Brad meant what he said in the way its being received. The conversation turned more general than the specific Kinsella tweet. i think what happened is general statements about men making sexist remarks were being made, and Brad simply said that everyone makes mistakes. he didnt say woman make more mistakes then men. Hell, i cant speak for Brad, but he would probably agree, yes, men DOOO make more mistakes than woman haha (im a guy, i can attest that ill never be as good as the woman in my life). but, everyone makes mistakes none the less. I dont think he was trying to use this to cover what Kinsella did - like i said, at the point in the conversation, things were getting a lot more general than that specific incident. read the thread, Brad has already agreed what Mike said was wrong.

i just think we're kind of all on the same side but we're all still arguing?? i dno.... *shrugs*
