The Gap is one of my fav albums - it's this beautiful, sparse, brittle thing - many people are losing it over Bon Iver's new one, but I think that the Gap predated that approach to music by almost 15 years... so yeah

that said, just go in order...

if not because its too much, then at least listen to the Gap and the Dick Cheney album...

  7. Yeah brothers and relatives in music just seem to work so well together. Even in my personal experience. I'm not as musically talented as my brothers, but them playing together can be some great stuff. I'm awful in comparison and they make me better. That's a good musician. Wish they'd do more with that talent.

Apparently, Mike has only been problematic in the past week, instead of ever since the moment he got on twitter. Lol. Regardless, the way the term "problematic" is used these days sort of annoys me. It implies we're supposed to be perfect.

i mean it is problematic to think that joking about how someone deserved violence that they experienced when they aren't a bad person is okay

You don't have to be perfect to not wish that you were the person to assault a mother of two

No, it implies that we shouldn't be bigots and ignorant to social justice, equal rights, and treating people like actual humans instead of punchlines. It does not imply nor does it demand perfection.

Eh, you guys are probably right. Maybe it's because I deal with problematic behavior every day in person, that a joke on twitter doesn't register to me as something to be taken seriously. I'll refer to yall on this one.

I feel like its being overblown too. Anyone who's listened to a single lyric in Mike Kinsella's music before knows he is as pacifist as they come, but at the same time opposed to corporate greed and celebrity bullshit in general. The comment was misdirected and probably offside, but came from a stance of "have vs. have not" and the general vapidness of the victim in question.

I'm a bit confused as to where this affection for Kim Kardashian is coming from in the first place. Everyone knows she's done absolutely nothing to deserve her celebrity and wealth, and everyone has been laughing at her from a distance for the past decade. Now that she gets robbed, she's a woebegone mother of two and a precious human being? The Kardashians represent so, so much about what is wrong and unequal in our society. I wish no one violence or fright, but perhaps those things are side effects of a constantly gaudy display of completely undeserved fame and riches. In any case, people's principled stands amuse me - someone is deleting MK's discography from their iTunes over comments he made on Twitter? Lol alright. Couldn't have less of an effect on the world if you tried, but whatever helps you sleep.

On another note, Give Me The Gun is an excellent track. Looking forward to hearing this whole album.

I am so tired of people hating on the Kardashians claiming "they are underserving".

Men are too busy shaming her for having a sextape to give her the credit she rightfully deserves.

I couldn't care less whether she makes a sex tape or who she sleeps with. What credit is deserved by someone who was born wealthy, never wanted for any single extravagance let alone food, shelter or medicine, and whose celebrity is based upon genetic advantage and pop culture? What respect has Kim Kardashian legitimately earned that she's not getting?

General human decency and respect towards her, especially after the traumatic experience she just went through is all that's being expected. Instead, there's been a lot of abhorrent bullshit.
