Grabbed Portland tickets for Saturday 4/29. Also have a ticket for the Chicago show at The Salt Shed and may go to Vegas in October. Been a long 4 years since I've seen them.

Craig’s lyrics here are next fucking level

    “if failure’s a trick
    Then we learned pretty quick,
It took just a few times to get it right”

I feel like Craig - between his solo records and the past 2 or 3 THS ones - has been on his own level for a minute now.

I didn’t LOVE ODP so I hope this one is more up my alley. I’m a Thrashing guy - love that album

Solid album. ODP grew and grew on me til it became one of my favorites so maybe this one will get there too, but I’d put it in the middle of the pack right now. I feel like Finn’s lyrics are much funnier on this one though and that’s a nice way to differentiate from his solo stuff.

Thrashing is incredible, felt low impact at the time because of the way they released all of those singles but in hindsight it’s up there with their classic records.

I think Thrashing has their best production to date. Love how bright the keys and horns are on that album.

For me Teeth Dreams and HiW are pretty clearly at the bottom. I’ve never warmed on Teeth Dreams, their weakest by a considerable margin, and HiW has some total gems but as a record it always felt a little confused of where it wanted to go and what it wanted to do, they seemed burnt out and that really carried into TD. Also Franz clearly helps open up their sound, and those records missed him dearly.

agreed, however HIW has grown on me over time. They missed Franz badly on these two
