Yeah, she’s absolutely right. The people of China are way more open-minded and supportive than the media will have people believe. Most Chinese citizens I’ve come to know are all chill af and have much of a ‘live and let live’ attitude. Not only with gender but with pretty much any topic that is deemed sensitive by western media. Inaccurately represented people to the extreme.

It’s the government that is the opposite (an example being the 2021 ban on effeminate men appearing on state TV), which might be what gives some the wrong view, whether or not it’s intentional.
