When the album preorder went up all the singles remained playable except "Built to Last". Was speculating something changed...

Someone asked about Camp Wilderness. I enjoy it. Is it worth it? Depends I think how big a fan you are of Andrew. Besides the once a while livestreams, I do like that Andrew actually engages and comments in the community section. Andrew also does drop a bit of info exclusively about upcoming news and projects. Last night there was a listening party and he did share some SoCo news that should be coming out at some point.

As for his new album, I honestly wasn’t feeling the singles that have been coming out. However, the rest of the non singles have me more hooked. I was worried where this album was headed. This album will prob end up somewhere in the bottom 3 of my rankings above.

Oh, in regards to this album cycle promotion. As a camp Wilderness benefit, a bunch of us were able to participate earlier this year in a research discussion group with his management team about how we as fans consume news from Andrew. One of the mods and I went on a nice tangent about absolute punk days. But, the takeaway I got from this discussion is that Andrew fans know where to go to stay up to date on all things related Andrew (social media, newsletter, website, etc). Management basically forced Andrew to use tik tok heavily for this album cycle promotion so that he could reach new users. So that’s where all the marketing for this album went, tik tok.

After jamming it a few times now, I’d say it’s a mix of the first two Wilderness albums.

Spent a lot of time with this yesterday, and think it's pretty great. Especially fond of "Submarine" and "Little Disaster." Upside Down Flowers hit me way, way harder on first listens, and I don't expect that this will be one of my favorite Andrew records in the long run, but it's another solid entry in his catalog. And some of the singles (particularly the ballads) work better in context.

I really wish CW sent emails when new things were posted or coming up.

I’m a member and had no idea about the listening party. Now I’m sad I missed the SoCo news!

Stars is still a fantastic song. Unfortunately not much from the album is really striking me, aside from Smoke & Ribbons.

I'll be giving this a listen later today, and while I am excited for a new record from Andrew, I don't know that I'm THAT jazzed based on what I've been hearing so far.

A lot of the Wilderness stuff just reminds me of Alt Nation. Inoffensive, but not memorable grocery store pop.

Unfortunately not into this as much as I was hoping. Some good songs, some forgettable. My fave is Smoke & Ribbons.

i am actually more impressed with this record than i thought i'd be. love the disco vibe of new friends, and little disaster has some gut-punching lyrics for me.

Okay, after another listen, I think this album is a good mix of the past three albums. With Bobby back in the mix, we keep the guitar from Upside Down Flowers. I think it’s added on top of the styles of both Zombies and self titled. Lyrically, I think this is Upside Down Flowers and self titled vibes. I think it’s a great collections of songs about looking back, self reflecting, and moving forward. Andrew has a way of phrasing specific moments in his life that hit at most people at a deep core memory type level. At least, he does for me.

Andrew is one of my all time favorite writers. I tend to view my favorite albums within the context of the project he was doing. So, North, EIT, and UDF, we’re my favs. I don’t know if this will over take UDF, but I do like that album incorporates the different styles of this project so far. Having a favorite Wilderness album is getting harder since it seems the Wilderness is here to stay.
