Take arms, it'll all blow over Prestigious

I know Heartbreak Feels So Good has been out awhile but this last listen has cemented it as my favorite post-hiatus song. Just love the chorus so much

Same. I remember fully giving up on this band after I heard Young and Menace (huge oof to that track jfc) so I’m very surprised that I’m legitimately digging a new FOB record in 2023.

    Good times!

I've only given it a single listen so far, however, the album is awesome.

It feels like a return to form after MANIA, the first time I was ever actually disappointed in an FOB release. (They should have dived deeper into the chaotic electronic sound of "Young and Menace.")

Folie and AB/AP remain my favorite FOB albums but this should easily fall in the top half of my personal discography ranking.

  5. Seems like everyone has different opinions on favorite tracks/albums, so you know they're doing something right (the Motion City Soundtrack effect)

    Really great record.

Fake Out and I Am My Own Muse standouts for me… but something really hit me just now about Muse - is this song not hugely inspired (almost to the point of interpolation) by Metallica’s No Leaf Clover??? Am I crazy? (For clarity: the verse riff and a lot of the orchestration do feel in a very similar ballpark to Clover.)

    Not newbie, I think Supporter

Agreed, I liked MANIA but it seemed like it didn't know what it wanted to be.

Like everyone else, this one kills and I know I'm going to be spending a lot of time hanging out with it. Super excited, haven't been this excited about a piece of music in awhile.

This record feels cinematic. I can't explain what that means other than that there are parts which feel like they should be the soundtrack to a film or a trailer. No I will not be elaborating further.

I feel same. And it’s not just for the orchestral parts.Literally the songs itself sounds like they are part of the movie.

I think that’s also what I like most about it! Low key love when bands go for that theatrical sound.

100%. They’ve said that they’d love to do a soundtrack one day so the intent is there. Patrick has done scores already so if they ever wanted to push things even further, they could do it.

Been playing this album all weekend. Their first post-Follie album I enjoy and hot damn do I enjoy it.

Fake Out, Kintsugi, Muse and the title track have been stuck in my head (along with Heartbreak which has been living rent free in my head for 2 months).

That was really hard. I pretty much love or at least really enjoy all of these songs except So Good, which I still think is fine and inoffensive, it just hasn’t really clicked for me. Record whips major ass

Low key love my favorite 4 songs off the album right away (excluding the 2 interludes) are your bottom 4 in the rankings. Just shows everyone is finding different songs to love right away lol
