I’m My Own Muse sounds fucking giant.

Kintsugi and Fake Out are super catchy.

Heartbreak is still my favorite.

VERY FUCKING NICE ALBUM.

 

Anyways this is the best fall out boy album in a decade

For sure

 

I’m so happy.

“Grudge,” “Heaven” (my god that ending), and “Muse” (all I hear is the Succession theme and Trans-Siberian Orchestra) are my highlights.

“Fake Out” is probably the weakest despite loving the opening guitar riff. “What a Time” is the second weakest, but has moments; beginning reminds me of disco and 80s/90s sportscast music.

Crazy how good some of this record is. What a time to be alive might be up there for FOB songs- might be the first song since the hiatus to break into my ~top 15. Great return to form without doing the whole pop punk nostalgia thing.

 

I Am My Own Muse is easily my least favorite track on this

obv this isn't what he means but regardless anytime pete writes about having the wrong guts/insides, my trans girl heart flutters

Fake Out has dominated my morning. So so so good.

The Kintsugi Kid not far behind.

 

Had a dance party to this with my kids this morning, mainly to "Fake Out", “So Good Right Now", and "What a Time To Be Alive".

Highly recommend.

 

The Pink Seashell kinda sounds like a 1975 interlude

Which explains why everyone on here is jumping to delete it lmao

Patrick's enunciation has gotten good enough that I was pleased to recognize that it's "SCAR" not "STAR" on the Heaven, Iowa chorus

I absolutely love the difference just a couple of days made in your attitude toward this new FOB album, hahah

 

Forgot something in the house this morning, had Heaven, Iowa playing at a somewhat normal volume level, told my 6 year old to stay in his seat while I run in to get said forgotten item, and when I came back out I caught him quickly putting his seatbelt on and that the volume had been turned up. He was already trying to sing the chorus. He's pretty awesome.

Also woke up to texts from my 14 and 17 year old just as excited as me for the new album.

Never thought the day would come where 3 of my 5 kids would be pretty big fall out boy fans. What a time to be alive.

 

You and me both! After Mania came out, I was like "Oh man, is this it? is my love for them over?"

But this album is exactly what I've been waiting for and needed.

I think I was more meh about it so that I wouldn't get my hopes up....but I was hopelessly hopeful on the inside.

 

Raising those kiddos right!
