    Fuckkkkkk. How does VMP work?

I’ve never done it. Is it worth signing up to save $3 ?

VMP is 100% worth it IMO. Somewhat pricey, but they really do have an incredible selection with mostly limited edition variants and I’m always so excited to select and receive my monthly album.

Unrelated, but this just arrived for me.

So hyped to finally own this record. Desperate for their self-titled now (probably the most meticulously-mixed album of all time).

Spending too much on vinyl lately and though I used to listen to The Format and fun., I literally never return to those albums, so it’d only be a nostalgia purchase for me. So I’ll stick this one out. Cool to see they’re reissuing those albums though.

  9. VMP has been worth it in the past but imo their price increase plus pretty bad picks so far this year have me rethinking tbh

I probably should have sat this one out too. But I didn’t.

Grabbed Dog Problems, Aim & Ignite, and Dog Problems with my VMP subscription. I already own Dog Problems but it's an all-time favorite and I am confident that the VMP pressing will be superior, as usual.

I like a handful of fun and Format songs, but not enough to buy any of that vinyl. My wallet is super happy about it haha

I almost always swap. There’s enough available that rules to pick from, but agreed, the primary choices so far this year haven’t been as good as last year. So far this year I’ve done Plains, Missy Elliot, J Dilla, and my next is Japandroids.

got I&L because I only had dog problems. trying to not buy that aim and ignite. likely will fail however.

It is absurdly expensive BUT I think the quality of the records and the customer service is something I try to keep in mind when I keep re-subscribing.

More than anything though, it has been incredible for expanding my music horizons and that's what I really value more than anything else from the service. I would have never heard of any of these artists without VMP, and I now own and love all of these records, including a bunch I bought without even listening. It's been a wonderful experiment.

Dinah Washington - For Those In Love (1955)
Blossom Dearie - Blossom Dearie (1956)
    Gábor Szabó - Dreams (1968)
Aretha Franklin - Spirit in the Dark (1970)
King Curtis - Live at Fillmore West (1971)
    Kalapana - Kalapana (1975)
Jorge Ben - África Brasil (1976)
Experience Unlimited - Free Yourself (1977)

I've only ever ordered from VMP twice. Both Fiona Apple albums. I must say their pressing of Tidal is one of the best sounding albums I own.

I've got og presses of The Format albums, and I wasn't into Fun as much as I was The Format. If Aim and Ignite is readily available in stores I'll grab it then!

The records I got from VMP last year are some of my favorites I own:

    Aaliyah - S/T
Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning
Bright Eyes - A Christmas Album
Big Boi - Sir Lucious Left Foot: Son of Chico Dusty
    Beverly Glenn-Copeland - S/T
    Sigur Ros - Ágætis Byrjun
Sigur Ros - Með Suð Í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust
Mars Volta - Deloused in the Comatorium
    Outkast - ATLiens
Modest Mouse - The Lonesome Crowded West
    Grimes - Visions

They just keep pressing stuff that is super readily available on the market! A lot of great albums, but I wish they'd try to do at least 50 percent stuff that either hasn't ever been pressed or is near-impossible to find. Like, I love Same Trailer, Different Park, but 1) I already own that album, and 2) it's not hard to find for 20 bucks.

I had a good 3 months with VMP. Their pressings are some of my favorites in my collection. Plus they accidentally sent me Japanese Breakfast’s Jubilee like a month early so I’ll always have that good memory lol

Oh I'm ready for it. Observer was a great way to end Coma Witch.

    Got that Lobster Bisque!

  23. One of my favorite vinyl buying memories was copping Dog Problems for $5 due to an album artwork misprint that to this day I still don’t see
