I remember really liking that Saves the Day cover. Forever sad that was the month my health went bad, really wanted in on that one.

Hahah, dry throat and blocked nose might be what I needed. I had to sing the deepest I ever have for this Halloween comp and I can barely stay in the second octave.

Well, then I'm excited to hear it when the comp comes out. :)

That was my biggest issue early on with my submissions, they just didn't feel natural for me. That feeling definitely helps with how much you enjoy something you've made.

 

Oh, and my favorite cover I've done is my Lana Del Rey "Off to the Races" cover for (I believe) the Summer Mixtape. I just had a lot of fun making it, and messing with making my voice gritty. haha Someone yesterday said I sound like I chain smoked cigars before recording vocals. I actually thought of this topic because I was finally getting around to uploading that cover to my own Bandcamp. (for no reason other than I think it's great, here's the artwork I did for it. hahaha)

edit: I made this artwork at like 2am, and the typo really shows that. hahaha I also like a dumb person didn't make photoshop document to fix it quickly. damn it.

 

my favorite is probably my "missed the boat" cover from the modest mouse compilation. i'm really happy with how the guitars came out on that one, in particular.

Finished my Coheed cover today. It has been submitted...

May start work on Lullaby Tuesday. At this pace, I'll be able to do 4 or 5 songs!

After The Cure cover maybe I'll try my hand at an original. Something I've been avoiding since I got some decent recording stuff... mostly through these comps!

Hey Brad, probably a stupid question, does someone have to be a member of this website to submit? I have a friend who does not have the internet (He's basically a caveman with an acoustic guitar) but he's interested in submitting a song at some point.

Yeah, Jonah was more like a "special guest" on the STD one, which was very cool because I've been a fan of his for a long time.

 

I've decided to ditch my King Diamond cover. It was funny to me because it was all acoustic and cheesy sounding, which was a hilarious contrast compared to the original song. But it really wasn't a great halloween-y cover.

I'm gonna try to write an original, or else do a Misfits cover along with my "Grim Grinning Ghosts" one.

 

I was thinking about how weird it was that no one had picked a Misfits or AFI song.

 

Because nobody actually knows the lyrics to any AFI songs.. (at least that's why I shied away)
