    Core Strength: Fall Out Boy

New interview with Patrick and Pete. They talk about how his singing became a meme and how they simplified their lyrics post-hiatus as a response. Nothing too specific about the album except that it’s full of orchestras, horns, and guitars.

I think they are different but in the way that a new fall out boy record is almost always different than the one that came before. I think AB/AP was the least significant “jump” in style from album to album which is why their post hiatus stuff gets lumped together as one sound but MANIA is not anything like those two records in my opinion, and looking at their pre hiatus albums it’s evident stylistic shifts have always been a part of this bands DNA. which is why people say it’s not *that* different, because this is what FOB has always done.

They won’t have to decide if they just don’t release another song early.

It was definitely edited. It originally said "Speak to Patrick Stump know quite a bit about it, and I was able to bring that and Pete Wentz about Fall Out Boy's new album "So Much (For) Stardust" and you'll get conflicting reports as to whether the record was, for a period, even going to exist."

That whole piece is some really clunky writing, even with the opening corrected.

Weird. Now it's corrected for me:

"Speak to Patrick Stump and Pete Wentz about Fall Out Boy’s new album ‘So Much (For) Stardust’ and you’ll get conflicting reports as to whether the record was, for a period, even going to exist."

It's called copy editing, folks. Some publications don't even do it anymore.

Listened to Folie A Deux for the first time in a long time tonight. Forgot how bonkers the back half is.
