Went to the screening and Andy/Rob show in Brooklyn last night- was a good time. Can't recall having been to a seated show before....

As far as the The Valley of Vision I enjoyed both the songs and the video more than I anticipated going in. Songs were very electronic/programmed with heavily layered vocals like in Capital Karma, but with varying tempos, which I enjoyed. Definitely an overtly cinematic feel to the music. Standouts for me were The Way, Quietly and Rear View (2, 3 & 6). I feel much less qualified to speak on the film, but I enjoyed it. Very cool imagery. As with everything this band does lately, I couldn't help but think of how intentional and meticulously planned it all felt- which I think is cool to see how much their art means to them/they care.

Rear View could aptly be described as The Internet part 2 :-)

    Motel. Money. Murder. Madness.

    Is this possibly from 08?

Say Anything cut his hair as their encore on my date, and I think he played San Diego the night after like this. lol

He may have done this a couple times though. :crylaugh:

I was born in a swamp, born with no clothes on

In a MO Facebook group I'm in, someone mentioned that the opening to "Captial Karma" is another song reversed... Does anyone know what song that is? Driving me nuts that I don't have the ability to play it backward.

    It’s Andy saying “All I want…” a few times

“All I want is the weight erased for you” is from The Internet, which Rear View also references

At the Grammy Museum premiere of TVOV Andy states Capital Karma is his love song to Rob so it makes sense because a lot of the previous record is about Rob’s dad dying.

This is my favorite from the EP. It’s the same song that Andy posted on his insta a two years ago that I was obsessed with.

The rest are more aligned with Capital Karma meets BB3 with a little internet thrown in.

  19. I’m ready for the band to work with someone that will force a shakeup again. It’s time for a move forward.

the EP reminds me of Copeland's Blushing a bit. it's nice but not the most engaging MO ever. a nice addendum to TMMOG I think

Just a slower more boring version of what they've been pumping out the last few years. It's fine and listenable for sure, but I also agree I am ready for a shakeup for this band

Is this full band MO or just a Rob/Andy project?

The whole band is on this, but it’s definitely not a rock record.

According to their patreon the album they’re working on right now is a lot more of a rock record then anything they’ve done recently, so i wouldn’t look at this as a permanent shift in sound but moreso as a little project to hold us over.
