@ USMNT fans - Lille has apparently converted Weah to a left back. Not really an issue in our line up at the moment, but could be worth watching considering the “how do we get all those attackers on the field” conundrum we’ve had.

On the TOTY chat, I think it’s hard to say. Early on we had played like Xhaka, Joelinton, and Almiron all in there, but they have fallen off post-WC.

    i’d probably go for:

    Pope
    Trippier - Martinez - Gabriel - Zinchenko
    Casemiro - KDB
    Saka - Ødegaard - Rashford
    Haaland

But truthfully, positions like GK, LB, LW, and CM are super competitive. Shaw, Ramsdale, Grealish, Mitoma, and Partey are all close

  4. I'm interested to see how that works. I love Robinson at LB though lol

I love Robinson there, too. Weah kinda reminds me of what Crystal Dunn has gone through with the USWNT, but in the reverse. As a club player, she's a forward. As a national team player, she's the LB. I think Fabian Johnson also had that back in the 2013-2014 cycle.

Hopefully he goes back to being a wide forward instead of the centre-forward we saw him play the most at Liverpool. I really enjoyed watching him at Hoffenheim.

Pep staying on until our homegrown version of the Bald Fraud is ready to step in. In all seriousness, I am kind of stunned how well Burnley is doing this year with Vinny at the helm. His spell at Anderlecht was interesting to say the least.

Apparently, he did a good job with Anderlecht and it was the poisoned chalice at boardroom level which held him back.

    Went on to say that!

Did come out recently that she doesn't like being a defender, but it's kinda hilarious she's the best LB in the women's game despite not wanting to do it/not doing it at the club level.

YUp. I saw that. Hopefully there's a solution.

Seems like we definitely have a n outside defender issue in this country

Yeah now that I look at Anderlecht this year, his performance for them looks a miles better and definitely shows the boardroom issues.

Let's get these people moving faster!

Alphonso Davies is the same - playing LB for Bayern and as a LW for Canada. Though with how much Bayern can play on the front foot, it may not be all that different.

He was on like 8k a week I think, bumps up his pay in case he stays beyond the summer and guarantees Brighton aren’t forced to sell him for anything less than they feel they deserve.

  17. Najafi has been the latest name linked to buying Tottenham. The club recently announced a new deal with F1 (not entirely sure what all it entails but it’s a 15-year deal and involves some kind of cart track at the stadium). Najafi also is the fairly new Vice Chairman of McLeran’s F1 team and he recently bought the Phoenix Suns basketball team. So the guy is clearly investing in a lot of sports teams and apparently has his eyes set on Tottenham. That combined with the new deal with F1….makes me wonder if he’s the guy.

Hey fellas, if you think Ted Lasso is impacting your career advancement choices, you still have things to learn from Ted Lasso.

It’s hard to say, because American coaches don’t have a great rep in Europe anyway, but I do think it’s been an issue for people like JM.

There’s no doubt he was mocked and called Ted Lasso pretty frequently. Doesn’t help that he hasn’t been very good at his two most high profile jobs either.

Funnily enough, there’s also episodes of Ted Lasso about the crowd and punditry who mock Ted Lasso having to learn and apologize so the point kinda stands. If you’re judging anyone based on Ted Lasso… you’re missing the point. (Except Nate, etc.)

It’s a tv show. JM and Bob Bradley haven’t lost their big jobs because they’re Americans. They lost them because the desired results weren’t there. Though, Potter and Lampard are definitely proving there’s a patience level difference but I don’t think that’s the same thing.
