"Going for the hat trick, new single coming out soon" - Pat on Axe to Grind today

Guess they have a new album in 2023

Wouldn't be surprised if it's a new EP or b-sides. Pat made mention during the writing sessions that ultimately produced Tawny and Hygiene that they had 17 songs ready. IDK. New music from them is always good.

Hygiene was held off because of the pandemic so makes sense we would get more music soon after.

    Newbie

Everyone should listen to Broken Field Runner (band who made that tweet) while you're at it. Came up in the same scene as Drug Church, their old bands used to play together.

3 songs already recorded, recording sessions planned before and after Prince Daddy tour, best material will make up the new album. "it needs to be wall to wall singles or I'm not touching it"

Also, he basically said they will be on tour with Gel this summer, supporting someone who "on paper Drug Church does better than" and they were encouraged to not play under them, but "there is no debate they are hotter than us"

both topics are covered after the 50m mark

New tune is really strong, perfect blend of their heavier elements and toned-down pieces. Really hoping this is part of an album coming down the road (hygiene doesn't feel that old but I like the idea of them having enough in the tank to just go right into another cycle)

Wish I liked this more...nothing post-"Tawny" has landed for me the way Cheer did. Partially the fussy production, partially the songwriting, partially the less-urgent vox to blame I think.

It's a good track, but I'm in the same camp as hollowmines. This...just lacks the oomph that Cheer had.

Saw them in Brockton this past saturday and they killed it then too. Funniest part of the set was when this dude from WBZ Boston streamed himself in the pit while crowd surfing during their set:
