It’s like they heard us whine about them adding strings on Simple Math and said “fine, we’ll take away the strings, but you’ll lose the DRUMS too!”

Why would anyone whine about adding strings? Strings are awesome.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

Cope unfortunately just isn’t particularly good

I enjoy the songs on cope a ton, the production has the issues everyone has mentioned, but the songs are fun to blast and sing along to. Hope to me is the superior version but that’s just bc I think it’s a beautiful record

I definitely listen to the Patreon versions more than the actual album, but I agree, solid songs for sure that are just produced poorly.

HOPE is BY FAR superior to COPE.

However, COPE has some MAJOR jams on it. Every Stone and Trees are MO all-timers for me. After the Scripture, albeit on the deluxe version, is also one of my MO favorites.

oh yeah Scripture is wildly better than anything on that album

All ManOrch albums sound pretty good when listening through headphones or speakers, IMO.

Personally, I love every single piece of music Manchester Orchestra has made... I've spent so much time with every single album and I'm never disappointed no matter which album I spin. I always THINK I want the hard-rocking sound but then I hear Andy croon on a slow jam & I'm like gawdam! Capital Karma is amazing & it sounds like from the description that Valley of the Vision is like MO doing their version of "The Postal Service" if it was done in 2022. I do hope they get loud a little on the new jams at some point, they're at their best when they go back and forth from loud to quite. IMO

    forbidden chalice.

Cope’s title track is one of my favorite MO songs. i love how the guitar drags out and disappears in the beginning right before “you both look exactly the same at night”

I love the end of The Internet, wished they would’ve extracted that into a whole song, like they at least referenced on that album.

Saw the video premiere the other night and it’s a solid EP. Definitely expect the sound you heard on Capital Karma, not the loud rock Manchester of old. We had a Q&A with them and someone asked how this would come across live and they did say that they’d be playing them a little heavier live, which isn’t really a surprise given how they already do that with some of their quieter stuff from the albums. Overall another great (short) album from the guys and I’m excited to get to spend some time with it when it comes out.
