Guess like I'll grab the standard black around release date unless there's an indie exclusive

Name one other band that has consistently gotten better over a 20yr span while changing up their sound every album and yet still sounding 100% like the same band. Didn't even know that was possible, they have no worst album only their least best album! So stoked for new music so soon!

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

this song is absolutely gorgeous, like it more than a solid half of MMOG

Not listening to the new song yet.

Ordered the vinyl simply just to complain when it undoubtedly gets stuck at Fox Valley post office for 3 months.

    Game on, bitches!

I haven’t listened to this band actively / on purpose since Mean Everything to Nothing and am feeling a lil nostalgic. What’s the general deal with their albums since then?

I see they have a new song out today, which is a fun lil coincidence.

Their first two albums are still my favorites from them, but I think A Black Mile to the Surface is their best album since METN. I enjoy Cope as well, but that one is one of their most divisive albums. Simple Math is solid. I only listened to The Million Masks of God a few times and don't remember much of it so I don't have too much of an opinion on it.

Simple Math got a little bit more experimental with strings, a child choir in one song, and just elevated production. The whole album is worth listening to, but I’d start with checking out Pensacola, April Fool, Virgin, and Simple Math.

Cope was a straight through Rock record. Pretty simple. I’d check out Top Notch, The Mansion, and Cope on there first.

Hope was the acoustic Yang to the Yin of Cope. Restructured acoustic, keys, and strings version of Cope songs. Check out Girl Harbor and Indentions off there.

A Black Mile To The Surface was their biggest change/departure/evolution. They shifted their sound a bit after doing film soundtracks and the Hope album. This is considered the first of MO 2.0. Check out The Gold, The Alien, The Grocery, and The Silence to get an idea off there.

Million Masks was a slight evolution off of that record with some more electronics added to the sound. Worth checking out Angel of Death, Keel Timing, Bed Head, and Obstacle to get a sense of that record

All of this, but also they don't have a bad album and you really can't go wrong listening to anything they've put out.

Has it been confirmed that these six tracks were some of the tracks that were listed on the MMOG LP? And weren't there like 12 listed? Is it possible we get a part 2 to this EP?

Further thought...I remember when MMOG came out, Andy had said the album was pretty much done prior to COVID. They didn't want to release the album in 2020 for obvious reasons so continued to make minor changes/touches to MMOG. I'm wondering if these songs were what came out of those sessions.
