Looks like more of a coming together for me. Edison didn’t follow through on him or anything like that. And the advantage of the ball going practically in the net makes it a play on situation in my book

 

Tbf it’s a flaw in the game that things that feel like fouls elsewhere, feel too harsh to award penalties for.

Not sure what the fix for it is though. Indirect freekick in the box, maybe.

 

I think "you don't see 'em given" sums up the penalty decision in a nutshell. Good half of football, though.

 

Yea agree. The vagueness of the rules makes for fun discussion points though!

 

Feels a bit like a decision that doesn't get given all the time, a very "by the letter of the law" type decision that would mean dozens of more penalties a year if it was given every time.

Soft, but was never going to be overruled once given.

 

Just feel like I've seen a situation like that go uncalled countless times. But oh well.

Dortmund looking good so far but we're definitely vulnerable on the counter. As long as Guerreiro gets back on defense, we should be mostly ok.

 

maybe i just haven't noticed before, but the Peacock crew (Drury, La Seux, Dixon) feels very "too many cooks in the kitchen"

i think they're all fine individually (really like Drury specifically) but all three together is a lot. NBC usually just has two person crews, which are much better imo

also interestingly, for the halftime show, Tim Howard went from thinking it was soft/not a pen to being in favor of the pen
