But really is that a thing? Like some states require routine inspections?

I didn’t realize the hell scape that is Oklahoma didn’t require inspections either

 

It's scary to me that most states do not require inspections lol. Like, it's a massive pain in the ass, but safety is a good thing

 

The less regulation the better according to every lawmaker in the history of Oklahoma (except for people’s bodies I guess)

 

I will say I'm forever pissed that my first car in highschool ended up needing $2400 of work to pass which was literally the price I paid for the car in the first place. Thank God my dad was able to help because buying it used up my life savings at the time

 

Also ridiculous that having tinted windows fails you

 

once had a place fail my car telling me i had to replace a windshield wiper i had just put on the week before lol

 

It passed thank fuck. It failed last year in NH for cracked bumpers and it was going to cost $1,800 to have them replaced. Really happy I didn’t do that and just waited until I moved to MA to have it inspected again. Procrastination pays off for once.

 

I was award “employee of the year” for company a few years back and I wondered if I would win it for 2022 or at least be nominated and while I got a bunch of callouts in our year review town hall, when it came to nominations I wasn’t on there. And then I realized no one that has won it was nominated even I believe a few of us should have been.

So I asked my manager (who has also won the award) about it since I was curious and legit had people message me saying, “I’ve heard you get called out like ten fucking times in this meeting but not even nominated???” and she said that it was an unwritten rule they created that you could only win once and also wouldn’t show up on the nominations slide.

So… what is my motivation to keep doing all the work I’m doing and assisting with? What kind of participation trophy nonsense is this. There are only 30ish or so people in the company and while we have a few decade + people here, I’m hoping the rest of us leave at some point but you really start to box yourself into a corner if no one can win it twice and way to keep people motivated.

I know it’s been posted here before but dreaming of an ex. It always throws me off when I wake up.

 

The shit show that’s been going on at my job. So we have several new people. Obviously people have to be trained and everyone is new and starts somewhere, I get that. I understand. But when I try to guide and help no one takes me seriously or listens. I’m like the “unofficial” lead. I’ve brought certain things to my managers attention, but I’m going to have to find time to talk to her again. Because it’s so frustrating. Not only that but the communication is shit. I’m doing the most and I can’t be in 5 places at once and guide people at the same time.

also when people are “mistakes happen”. When it’s something that never should have happened and can easily been avoided (like those people who leave their baby in a hot car). Like you were careless and were rushing when I told you not to rush and now you made a big mistake.

Feel you brother. Got a rock chip awhile ago and it’s finally getting fixed tomorrow. I’ve been worried about it getting worse for too long. I’ve replaced too many windshields in my time

 

When an excercise video says stuff like "tuck in your pelvis" or "stack your spine" like idk what that is or how to do that lol. I even watched a "tuck in your pelvis" video and I could see the difference when the person did it but when I tried it didn't look the same or rly feel different? I feel like it's an abstract direction and I'm not good at understanding those

 

I had tomorrow all planned. Was gonna listen to the new Paramore album in my new house and was so fucking excited. Then my realtor calls and says we can't close tomorrow bc the sellers need more time to move their stuff. When I went and saw the house almost a month ago they had literally 4 items in the house. What is taking so long??? Gimme the keys, please!!

 

I’ve been with my wife for 10+ years and I just found out that while watching Scooby-Doo, she does not guess who the monster is like it’s a crime show. She just sits back and watches.
