Last time I talked about the offspring Jason subtweeted me in a news post Because I said something about their influence being overstated

    They're bad

They were fundamental in the success of Epitaph but I don't think they were responsible for much artistic influence, hardly one of the more unique/important bands of that wave.

"Gone Away" and "The Kids Aren't Alright" are the only two Offspring songs I'm particularly enthusiastic about.

The Who suck and Quadrophenia is a snore, especially compared to the albums released in that time by their peers

The Offspring's Smash is an iconic 90s album. I don't care what anyone says.

This song is pure ace :thumbup:

I'm late to the Thrice talk, but yeah, I tried really hard to get into them this year but I just can't. I think they're okay all around but nothing about them actually makes want to listen to them ever.

I only know You're Gonna Go Far, Kid from the Offspring which is the most cliche song of theirs to know but man that song is a fun time.

  15. New Thrice LP is their best imo but I am more personally attached to Beggars

Illusion and Identity aren't good though. And I don't care for M/M in the slightest

I thought Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace was pretty good. You're gonna go far kid and Half-Truism were really good singles.

Speaking of Dallas Green I'd kill for a new Alexisonfire record. Old Crows/Young Cardinals is one of my fav records out of their genre.

Magna Carta Holy Grail is one of Jay-Z's best albums, IMO. I don't know if this is really an unpopular music opinion but I'm basing this off the mixed reviews I read.

    hmmm

Is it unusual for people to have taken a good while to get into Thursday because of the guy's voice?

I mean I really like them now but it's taken a few years of only occasionally listening to them in little bits before I could get on board with them.
