Yeah sorry guys. I'm gonna have to join the "Rolen is not a hall of famer" clan. I don't see it. I admit I'm pretty critical and have high standards but man, idk I really really don't see it

 

what are your standards

 

I'm big on "was this guy a top player on a fairly consistent basis in his era" and/or just a nice long career of really really good numbers, player. When he played, did anyone consider him one of the 10 best players in the league? Not really, or if they did, it was very short lived.

He was a top 5 defensive 3B for about a decade. Idk if that distinction and that accolade is a hall of famer.

 

So Helton, Wagner and Beltre next year?

I legit had this convo in my head if it could be a top 3 movie but I feel like 4 and 5 would probably be that and moneyball

 

Major league 1 and 2, the sandlot, little big league, moneyball, and a league of their own in some order are my favorites.

 

I've never seen field of dreams or bull Durham or the natural. I suck

 

No love for Rookie of The Year?

 

I knew I forgot one. I like the ones I listed more. I’m pretty much alone on the little big league being better than rookie of the year island, which is fine. I just think little big league is underrated and having actual mlb players make appearances was kind of unheard for that time period.

Team LBL. I remember thinking as a kid that Little Big League was just a better movie, even though I was way more excited for Rookie.

Though I don't have particularly great taste in anything, so take that feedback how you will.

 

I like them both. Not sure which one I like more.

Other baseball movies I like that weren’t mentioned are Eight Men Out, Bad News Bears and 42. I like Major League 3, The Fan and The Scout but don’t consider them “good” movies.

 

Hard for me to say that Field Of Dreams, Bull Durham and Major League aren't easily the three best

 

Field of Dreams and Bull Durham are definitely good ones no doubt.

 

Ed has always been a good one for me
