Didn't see this thread. But holy shit this song. I wanted that ending to keep going.

 

Only familiar with Sleep Token from their cover of Loathe's Is It Really You? but The Summoning is damn good single. That last minute or so had me thinking I was listening to another track by them.

Why do I hear that Gotye song when listening to the new single? Track is a gem though, stoked to hear the whole thing. Will probably preorder (when those go live), since they are 3 for 3 for me.

I keep sending these singles to my wife and even she is digging them. Aqua Regia is entrancing. Safe to assume that they'll probably release at least half of the tracklist as singles (if not more)?

Only just stumbled onto them after my youtube algorithm started throwing reaction videos at me. Pretty impressed by the composition and rhythm section, and really curious for their new album. But can't help but wonder how much of the hyperbolic fandom is thanks to their mysterious presentation? It's interesting to see fans communicating their sentiments about them being a secret under the radar band that only they know about when they're pushing 5-12 million streams per single. And I don't mean that as a criticism, because I think presentation absolutely can matter for a band, and there's a real place for that. I like the commitment to the bit.

I think it works best when there’s suspense behind wearing the mask

I for one find Slipknot to be a complete shtick, whereas with Ghost it was actually a fairly popular singer hiding (perhaps not very well?) behind a mask and fronting a band

When Vessel’s identity gets revealed even I’ll be curious, as his unique voice is what propels the band. I like many others was pretty sure for awhile that it was the singer from Bastille, just very similar vocal tones

The Night Does Not Belong To God, Blood Sport, Alkaline, Aqua Regia are top top tier for me. Everything else is top tier.

Take Aim is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard by anyone

 

Telomeres is probably my favorite, Atlantic and Gods are close behind that.
At first I was blown away by their debut. But I don't go back to it that often. Listened to it for the first time in a year or so last week and I still like it. But compared to TPWBYT it's just not as strong as a full album. I keep listening to it.
