I can understand why she doesn't like the part, but it's iconic at this point.
As long as the instrumental plays for the crowd to sing along or a recorded vocal, that's reasonable.

The best part is the melodramatic, corny as hell “Don’t let me die here” in the background. Peak 2003 energy right there.

So boring Saturday, had a debate at work today. A great what if. If Chiodos didn’t implode in 2008? Would they have ended up an arena band?

They got so big so fast, they were originally second on the taste of chaos and then moved to direct support by the end of the tour for 30 seconds to Mars and The Used on Taste of Chaos, that album debuted at 4 on Billboard, they were on Entertainment Tonight. There is a large contingent of folks who believe if they continued they would would have been an amphitheater/arena band.

  13. I can’t imagine a world where they would have been THAT big but I may be biased cuz I never liked them at all. Ha

I honestly doubt it. The style of music they were playing was already on its way out the door as far as the mainstream was concerned in 2008. And, real talk, the only bands of that era that were able to jump to arenas of any size were the ones who had songs on the radio or MTV in a substantive way. Which Chiodos didn't have.

And they weren't able to make it happen on Bone Palace with major label support... And so much of the reason that band was popular had nothing to do with the music and everything to do with them having the right image. I kinda feel like it wasn't ever going to last long-term.

Getting a lot of success quickly while your style of music is popular will get you into a spot where you can tour large clubs and House of Blues for the rest of your life. But it won't get you into arenas. If they had stuck it out, I think they'd be right around where Senses Fail is at the moment popularity-wise.

What about if Post Malone actually ended up in Crown the Empire? Asking the real questions here.

  19. I would have heard the exact same amount of his music either way.

You can’t underestimate how hot FFTL was before Sonny had the medical issues with his vocal cords. Heroine had a big roll out with expensive videos and a good exposure on Fall Out Boy’s (first?) arena tour (if maybe a little misplaced with Hawthorne Heights and All American Rejects). They just signed to a major label, were prepping a club tour with an indication that they’d be playing much larger venues after. Wes Borland seemed all in and probably could give them credibility with more mainstream metal/rock audiences. They were leaning more into theatrics, I feel like a successful 3rd album could have put them on the same scale as My Chemical Romance but more for the post nu-metal crowd

Im pretty sure that co headliner with Atreyu was basically 100% sold out pretty much when Sonny left.
