Probably because you can only recycle lineups for so long. This also isn’t going to do super great numbers. Lineup is all over the place and I don’t see a ton of TBS fans wanting to sit through the undercard. These bands are all decently popular but not enough to build a touring festival around imo.

Can we talk about how this is going to be a disaster in amphitheaters? Do we all remember how badly Disrupt Fest bombed in 2019 trying to do the same thing?

I feel like this might be part of something larger happening at PNC, this being there just doesn't make any sense whatsoever. It's the exact same lineup as the next day in Philly, but Daisy Grenade isn't on Philly & Sincere Engineer & Head Automatica jump on. The Skyline Stage at the Mann is the PERFECT place for Sad Summer, Pier 17 was horrible, PNC is far too large

to be fair, no one in 2019 is going to pay to see circa survive and thrice headline an ampitheatre, and half those undercard acts were like 5 years past their prime.

Yeah I don’t see this doing well tbh. If there were 2-3 more headliners that are the same popularity/ilk of TBS, then maybe

TBS has played Five Point Amp in Irvine multiple times the past few years. But it’s because it was a co-headlining tour or they were co-headlining a festival. If they’re the sole headliner with this lineup of acts that tour often anyway, then I expect a turnout even worse than Disrupt lol

If it was, like, Taking Back Sunday/Jimmy Eat World/Andrew McMahon/Motion City Soundtrack and THEN the rest of the bands, I could see it maybe working, but woof, I feel like there's too much weight on Taking Back Sunday's draw.

Yeah. It’s just odd that they didn’t try to go all in on nostalgia. Sure there’s some overlap, but The Maine, Pvris, and Hot Mulligan all have differing fanbases. I can’t see a lot of them coming out to only see a few bands. Hot Mulligan is already opening a big tour for TWY in the spring too. It’s definitely weak compared to last years lineup of Neck Deep, Waterparks, State Champs and Mayday Parade who all have similar fanbases.

Totally. They’re vastly overestimating TBS’s draw

Considering their tour with TEB played a lot of these venues last year and couldn’t fill them up…

Tbh this is my favorite Sad Summer lineup. I do feel like could of went a little more old school with the lineup but the fact I get to see TBS headline with The Maine, Pvris, Hot Mulligan and Stand Atlantic and it’s now in Clearwater which is a lot closer then Orlando has me very excited

100% agree with this. I'm sure there are people out there who haven't seen TBS and want to but not enough to get the numbers. If you've seen TBS at any point in the last 5-7 years years, I imagine it'll be the same set with terrible vocals playing the same songs from 15-20 years ago. I can't think of a band that is coasting on nostalgia more than TBS. Maybe Thursday.

Even last year's date in my area was light. Granted not a major market, but absolutely no shot there were more than 2,000 people at the peak of the lineup

2021 had a huge turnout. Anaheim had about 9k. AEG probably dumped the tour after last years numbers. No way they had half of that attendance in 2022s fest

Last year was the only year it’s been in Columbus, Cleveland and Pittsburgh. All which were smaller / mid-size amphitheaters. Live Nations shead is 20K-ish in Pittsburgh and Cleveland. I didn’t look at the other venues but all of the dates are listed on live nations site and not directing you to AXS. So I’m not sure.

Pier 17 & The Mann are both Live Nation venues & have hosted every Sad Summer thus far. And it seems Pier 17 was traded for another Live Nation venue in PNC

i didn't go to ssf last year, did it not do very well? 2021 seemed like it did decent draws

It depended market by market. The Michigan date was sizably smaller, both in attendance and festival ground size.
