This record might actually end up as a Top 3 YC record for me, which is certainly not something I was expecting. Still need a lot more time with it, though.

Hearing "Fields and Fences" for the first time tonight on my drive home was awesome. It was dark out, raining lightly. Very cool experience

I love The Hurt Is Gone. That song is just... so good. Never expected a Yellowcard song to sound like that song.

I was laying in a hammock in my yard under some trees while the sun beamed through those trees when I heard it first.

Btw first impression on first listen to the album is strong. I listened to most of it while running then driving home. Loved the first 3 songs especially.

All of the hate of Crash The Gates makes me sad! That song is so good. The weakest song on Lift a Sail imo is easily Make Me So

I just got home from work and opened up my vinyl. I was surprised to see Sean O'Donnell has a credit for Leave a Light On

Leave A Light On might be one of his best vocal performances.

I'm not going to lie and say I cried or anything while listening to the album but I definitely felt a mix of sadness and pure satisfaction after F&F ended. This album is actually even better than I thought it would be (like a lot of people in here I'm not huge on Lift a Sail), the whole thing is very consistently good. Varied sounds between songs but it all flows together perfectly. Savior's Robes might be my favorite if I had to choose one.

I also don't think it's being mentioned enough how phenomenal of a job Key and Mendez did producing this. It's a great headphones album, there's a lot of subtle flourishes that make the songs sound better. I definitely think both of them have a future in producing for other artists after the band is completely done.

I'm still not quite sure it's hitting me that the band is ending, but I'm sure after I see them for the last time it'll feel more final. All rambling aside, they did a fantastic job with this album and I'll miss having new music to look forward to from them.

I must need to give this another listen or two. Because this still isn't clicking with me at all, while everyone else appears to be loving it.

Savior's Robes is such a stand out...would've made for a great opener.

Cannot imagine this record opening with anything other than "Rest in Peace."

    Sleekest of beaks. So Good.

A Ryan key solo album in the vein of Leave A Light On, I'm A Wrecking Ball and The Hurt Is Gone would be incredible. I love this record, might be my second favorite YC album. Rest In Peace is the perfect opener and Saviors Robes into Fields & Fences is an amazing one-two punch closer.

    What has love become?

I just realized Key's last words on the first song (not counting the single) back from the hiatus were : "Bring walls down. Hear all my sound. Let me back in. Love me again." He let us know how grateful He is that we more than did let him back in with the final words of the final album: "I don't have much to give to you but, I know I love the way you make me feel like i'm at home and I am not alone."

So powerful and so humbling. Shows how there is still so much beauty hidden in this final album left to unravel over time.

I was at a bar downtown last night and heard "Ocean Avenue" come on... Very fitting for the day but also very sad.

That would actually make sense. Looking at it from that perspective, hits home for me. I can totally relate, living a long way from my parents. I actually enjoy the song even more now.

Gotta say after one listen... not really into this. I'm A Wrecking Ball is great, and I still like the opening track, but there's a lot I don't like at all on here (what appears, got yours, the hurt is gone, savior's robe).

The xylophone at the end of A Place We Set Afire is a nice touch. I'm not sure if the band has ever incorporated it before.
