Another mystery from the State Theatre in Portland, ME. Announcement coming for the Cross Insurance Arena of two metal bands, co-headliner, with direct support from an up-and-coming act with a lot of buzz.

I'm not a metal guy, so, I have no idea, but.

Cross holds about 6,000ish for concerts, for reference.

Total guess here but maybe Lamb of God for one of the co-headliners and Lorna Shore for the act with a lot of buzz. Don't know for the second headliner though. I'm just pretty sure both LOG and Lorna Shore don't have any US dates right now.

Deftones, maybe? Not sure who they’d be coheadlining with tho

Beartooth and someone else could easily fill 6k venues too. Def depends.

    Further follow-up:

The two co-headliners have played the State Theatre individually multiple times (1,500 or so cap theater - think HOB.) The opener isn't a new band, but has made a name for themselves "over the last few years" and has not played Portland recently, or at all.

First thing that came to mind with the newer band is Spiritbox. I know they're a pretty big deal now and they haven't been here.

Maybe Mastodon? As one of the headliners

I know they've been here a lot, so, definitely a possibility.

Spiritbox played Portland in the Underoath tour last year, I flew in from Florida for it.

Depending on when this said show is it might not be spirtbox. They have a few over seas dates in march. then they have a huge USA headline tour that’s pretty much completely sold out in April and may. then go overseas from the last half of may until the middle of July

This Madonna tour could be an interesting one. She has been in denial that she's a heritage act for a while meaning whenever she tours she tends to play her entire new album, a few old songs and remixes of her biggest hits. If she did an all killer no filler setlist, would be really cool to see. I wonder if her team is aiming for NFL stadiums.

    Things have changed.

Madonna in stadiums feels like a real overshoot.

She's done baseball stadiums before and if it's a "I'm finally playing the hits" tour, could definitely do big numbers.

Last time she was here they definitely were giving tickets away everywhere around time for the arena tour and she tends to always come on late as hell and plastered.

Arenas? Yeah, I see it. Stadiums? Maybe not

We think she's a live singer or a lip syncher?

Probably similar to Michael Jackson on his last tours. Slower numbers she’ll sing live, songs with complicated routines lip synched.
