Ok im finally going to see this today - whats the best way? Assuming 3d, is imax over real 3d better? Is the HFR worth seeing?

 

I think the HFR is just part of the movie and I would assume IMAX is better but I've only seen it in RealD 3D and thought it was great

 

Im seeing multiple showings advertised as having the high frame rate and others dont seem to have it so i didnt know if maybe it was special per showing

 

That's weird. If we're referring to the same thing, I would avoid the high frame rate haha

 

Is HFR meant to look like motion smoothing? That's what my showing had and I wish I would've caught it in IMAX or Real 3D instead.

 

I think Real 3D is the worst version of 3D

 

I think the HFR works more often than not. It's a bit jarring at first, and I don't know if the frame rate shifting between faster and "normal" helps or hurts, but some of that HFR 3D imagery is stunning imo.

(Saw it at a normal Cinemark 3D showing, not a bigger screen; don't recall what version of 3D it was, but whatever it was worked for me.)

 

Yeah it just means the frame rights are higher and the picture looks smoother. Most films don’t have higher frame rates so it can look uncanny

 

i am prioritizing imax 3d and it looks like the only option that works best for me today is with HFR.

Lol in the first movie its actually justified by the plot and by the sequel Cameron's just like, fuck it, effective narrative device
