lol seriously come on. That’s so lame. Would love to see that cringe group chat. Like @Greg said, if anything they’d either just cut certain scenes or simply rewrite them. Those jokes aren’t “brave” if they’re offensive. It’s the same story with Friends. We can all go back and watch and cringe at certain jokes like “oof that wouldn’t fly today and I can’t believe they ever did” and then we all just carry on and continue watching because it’s familiar comfort food. We can see the problems for what they are, representative of an otherwise undiscussed problematic trend in that era’s writing, while being able to appreciate the rest of the series despite those jokes, because they give us nostalgic comfort when we need it. It also makes us more appreciative of the fact that we are growing as a society and harmful writing like that wouldn’t be okay today because, you know, it’s just not okay and it’s a good thing that we’re aware of that. Comedians can be insufferable I swear.

It’s also ironic coming from Mindy whose main character of her Netflix series, Never Have I Ever, Devi, always gets called out for doing and saying problematic things that are seen as flaws for her to overcome.

Like have some self awareness, Jesus.

More and more it seems like these people don't differentiate between a character doing something we are supposed to find offensive or wrong versus something that is portrayed as positive or correct that an audience finds offensive or wrong.

My guess would be that if the show was made starting today and you changed nothing about the episodes, people may be vocal about some issues in the show (as is the case for… everything) vs yea it’s super popular now, but the audience already knows the series and/or it makes less sense to criticize it now since well, there’s nothing you can do to change it.

Like, the episode where Mose is in blackface for 3 seconds got cut/removed at some point on streaming in the last two years but if that episode aired for the first time in 2022 people would have more of an issue with it (I believe) as a “read the room, you can’t do that” vs “yikes that sucks they did that, but that was back then and the world was different back then” viewpoint.

But overall yes, Mindy is wrong lol and calling your show/jokes “brave” is hilarious

If the show aired now nobody would watch it and it would get canceled after 6 episodes

I received the Lego set and a pair of socks with Kevin spilling his chili on them for Christmas from my mom for Christmas

Spent the morning putting together the Lego set. Haven’t built one since I was a kid. Was only 367 pieces but took me forever and was super peaceful and enjoyable. Didn’t even listen to music of anything while building it. Just focused on the instructions and not losing any pieces. May have unlocked an expensive new hobby lol

immediately started thinking about stopping at Target tonight to get the Friends one which is about six times the size of this one. I’d probably need to buy a fucking table to put it together on too lol

“Eilish said that because the moment was played straight without a pause or a laugh, she interpreted it as Jim answering Michael's absurd question honestly.”

Does she believe 97% of the entire series to be factual then by that reasoning lol

Back to the Lego set for the show - it’s really cool but wish it was the full set of course and wonder what went in to what got left out of certain areas.

No coatrack next to Pam’s desk and Michael’s office is missing his bookshelf, chair next to the window and maybe some other things. Also was surprised that there was nothing with a Dundie on it. I thought one of the stickers showed the statue or said Dundie but looking at it now and nope. I wonder how much adding the extra chair or bookshelf would have added to the overall cost since the main board itself would need to be bigger to fit that in. That type of nerd stuff always interests me, except when I’m in those types of meetings at work go figure lol

I’m legit blown away. I literally googled “office Lego set” and only results I ever saw were for a 400 piece set. And now finding this one makes my post from yesterday probably seem very strange since I talk about wanting a full set and why the coat track was missing from mine and this set answers all of my questions and more lmao

In the Lego set they have Darryl holding a piece that says, “Terry’s Diner Takeout Menu”. What is this referencing?

Subscribed to Peacock since they were doing a $29.99 for the first year thing. I really want to watch the Superfan Episodes.

My ideal Office experience is without commercials, as this is my happy place. I watch currently on my collection on iTunes(and all the Bluerays/DVDs for deleted scenes). But the Peacock deal was for the “with ads” tier. I’ll live.
