An 8 seed makes sense in the NFC as it’s very possible a 9-8 lions team misses the playoffs. And that team would deserve it

I want an 8 seed just for that reason

 

I think you could convince the average person on the street that this is the same person, before and after waking up a bit and running a comb through their greasy hair.

 

Listen, nobody wants a piece of us right now. When a team gets their shit together under a surprising young quarterback and a talented coach, look out baby.

 

I assure you, Pat Mahomes and Josh Allen want the whole damn cat.

 

Really eerie that the last time the Jags got a good quarterback… they started first 9 weeks 3-6 and made the playoffs at 9-7 (starting 3-7 and finishing 9-8 in a 17 game season is basically the same). It was 1996, Mark Brunell’s first season as a Jaguar, and we similarly were a team with a couple GREAT pieces but a mostly incomplete roster.

Not saying we aren’t LIKELY to be a one-and-done team, we definitely are lol… but that year we were too, but we went on to knock off both the Bills and Broncos (two superbowl contenders at the time) and made the AFC championship. All I’m saying is i wouldn’t count our offense out from keeping pace with a better opponent and *maybe* pulling out a playoff W if they possess the ball last

Oh Mark Brunell is most definitely overrated lol but his ‘96 and ‘99 seasons were fire.

sadly he lost us the game vs NYJ in 1998 vs TEN in 1999 when we DID have better teams… so he never truly had that Super Bowl dog in him. He was at best a “lose in the playoffs, but still have believers every season” QB like Tony Romo, except he got hurt and lost his mojo a lot sooner than Romo did.

(Though the 98 Jets were pretty stacked too and had an ELITE coaching staff)

 

I will never discuss Mark Brunell in any context other than....he cried on national television because some footballs got cold lol

You’re talking to the wrong lifelong Jags fan anyway. I always tell other Jags fans that it was Jimmy/McCardell, Fred, and Boselli making a decent but not great QB look like a star. Fred forced teams to play man coverage, Jimmy / Keenan dominated man coverage, and Boselli kept some of the best pass rushers of all time off of him.
